Hello, it's me. I was wondering what other 8 Simple Rules' fans think. Do you think the show became funnier:
before John Ritter died?
after John Ritter died?
(No offense to fans of the actor, I actually love John Ritter, he is the best actor on earth)

they were both funny when jhon ridder was alive and when he was not i think that the show got a little funnier brecause they brought c.j into the show and the granfather!

both. i like kate's dad though. hes funny and hes a great actor. although rorie was funnier when john ritter was on the show. ill watch the show either way

Both, it was still amazing and i still wonder why cancel the show. Like i doubt According to Jim is better.

before he died. the show had funny family value b4 he kicked the bucket. after he died the family was just living together. if i wanted living together; i'd watch reba.

i reckon probaly after because C.J is in it more after and i think hes the funniest out of them all and i think the show was just generally better after he died.

I like it both ways, but I like it somwhat better without John Ritter. I like the kids better when they're older, and C.J. and Kate's Dad are AWESOMELY HILARIOUS!!

I actually liked it better after. I think John Ritter is incredible, however, I loved the additions of both David Spade and James Garner...they fit perfectly into the show. Don't get me wrong, I loved the show when John Ritter was still on it, but with CJ and Jim, the show, IMO, just ended up being funnier.

Before John Ritter died. I just thought it was funnier. Even though I liked it with David Spade and James Garner.

It was definately better before he died. John made the show what it was. James Garner is a great actor but I've never found Spade funny in anything I've seen him in.

I loved CJ and the grandpa, but before John Ritter died. There was a quality to the show that felt missing once he died. Not just him, but the show seemed to be missing something. I still can't figure it out. But, I did love both ways. I found the show most interesting during his death, but obviously would of rather had him stay alive without CJ and grandpa than die

Both.
John Ritter was the heart of the show, but after he died, the show sort of shifted the focus on the others and was still just as good. It got a little crazier and funnier. I still recall the one episode after John died where all the lying and conspiring caused everyone's dirty secrets to clash and they all guarded the phone to keep each other off it. Everyone got busted for something or another and the scene ended with:
Cate: "CJ, what kind of bar was this?"
Bridget's Date (after seeing CJ's ID as a phony ID): "I'm looking for a sexy blonde named C.J."
CJ: "I NEVER SAW THAT MAN BEFORE IN MY LIFE!!!"
This crazy episode showed the show writers were still at the top of their game. The series should have lasted at least another season if but to let the cast have a real farewell episode. I'd like to have seen both Ed O'Neil return and David Faustino make a cameo.
