I really wish I watched this show when it was on the air, but watching reruns on ABC Family is great. These were "the golden years" of 8 Simple Rules when John Ritter was still alive, and there wasn't a huge dark cloud hanging over the cast. We got some great interactions from the entire cast tonight.

From Bridget avoiding the Doyle boy to the very awkward dinner, this was a great episode. Kayley Cuoco did a fantastic job tonight, and you can really tell how much acting talent she had as early as her role on this show to her role today on The Big Bang Theory. Although both characters (Bridget & Penny) are quite similar, she's still great

Overall, we got a satsifying story line, some great one liners, a musical performance, and a feel good ending to show for it. Great episode.
  • One of my favourites from Season one.

Fantastic episode! Seeing Rory in a dress to try and pick up girls was hillarious! Not to mention seeing Bridget's reaction when she found out that "Dorky Donny Doyle" was really cute after tying to avoid him for the whole episode! Classic! It was great to see Cate singing at the wedding too. She has a really good voice and i'm glad that she gets to sing again in the series. What really made the episode for me though was the guest stars - Fred and Mary Doyle (John Ratzenberger & Shelley Long). They played the roles beautifully and they both have such a wonderful screen presence. It was great to see them working together again.

i loved this episode it was so well written i love 8 simple rules but i dont often laugh the whole way through but i couldnt stop laughing in this one.

rory in a dress, briget dating dorky donny doyle, cate singing, this gave us so many great memories it made me fall in the series all over again because i was starting to lose hope but then it comes back with a classic like this, i hope writers can come up with storys to top this one it was flawless not one part i didnt like. i hope we get to see cate singing again soon she has an incredible voice
  • What happens when a family invites over the weirdos in the neighbourhood?

Everything! Cate deciedes that the family hasn't been very nice to their neighbours, the Doyles. Even though her family hates the idea, she invites them over for dinner. Their son, Donny Doyle (or as Bridget calls him "Dorky" Doyle) will be dropping in later, hoping to talk to Bridget. Bridget fakes sick to avoid seeing him, which is too bad because Donny changed his look! Theres chemistry (at the end!) between the two, and its a halirous installment of the visit with the Doyles. But it gets even more twisted! After the Doyles claim that they are the only ones who have ever invited them over, they feel that the Hennesys are like family...and invite them to their daughters wedding! I would recommend watching this episode for sure! Check your local TVGuide for when it airs next!
