    In this episode there is real character development, when Rory try's to step into his dad shoes. He tells his mum and his grandpa that his two sisters are planning to sneak out to a party with there boyfriends. Rory says he scared of what they will turn into in the furture. Jim gets into it a bit, and cate gets upset with the girls and gets worked up about the party and the fact its the first thanks giving without Paul. The idea was no party but in the end its all good and rory got to cut the turky.moreless

  • To me i see this episode as Rory's character development. He steps into his fathers shoes and tries to be the man of the house. very sweet.

    well as you can see i think this episode is about Rory and him taking the "man of the house" status even though Jim is still there. He, in the most adourable way, steps into his deceased father's shoes and tries to protect his sisters against their boyfriends and he attempts to build a fire. I actually cried when the carving knife was passed to Rory. It was such a special moment and when it cut to a few minutes later i was laughing and crying at the same time. Ive never laughed and cried at the same time.moreless

    So it's basically the first thanksgiving after the death of Paul, and Kate is trying to pull up the strings and have a nice family gathering by inviting over her mother, who turns out to be having much of a slight flirting with Jim. Rory takes it upon himself and tries to be the man of the house by yelling at Kerry and Bridget and failing their plans. Kerry and Bridget try to sneak out of the house to attend a party with their boyfriends at Thanksgiving dinner but Kate spots them and takes them back home. At the end of this episode, when everyone is seated, we can see one missing chair that is empty.

    As much funny and delightful this episode was, it still doesn't remove the red pain in the heart after the death of Paul (John). The person who used to use the last chair will never be forgotten. He is to be put in our hearts forever.moreless
