8 Simple Rules

sometimes in family sitcoms it's really obvious that the family is not related for real but i think this is what makes 8 simple rules special. to me it seems they are as close as a normal family



in this episode paul wants to watch a big name but his darling wife has left him so he must again deal with problems beyond him but handles them well.



it was really funny how the wall of shame worked and the bit at the end really had me giggling.



this episode including humour, soppy moments and alot of bonding between the family.



bridget and kerry are the perfect sisters in this too! fighting but loving.

Michigan vs. Ohio State. Man, that is always a big football game that usually ends with a spectacular finish. It turns out that Paul is a Michigan alumni and has also been waiting for this game. Though he goes to the game ever year when it is in Michigan, this year he can't because Cate has just started graduate school (on a Saturday?). This leaves Paul trying to watch the game while watching after the kids. Of course, problems ensue. The minor one includes trying to keep Rory from being inside all day playing video games. The major one involves Bridget apparently shop lifting at the local drug store. When Paul makes a quick judgment, Bridget becomes angry. Eventually Paul listens to her story and takes her side, but she would like him to get her picture down from the "Wall of Shame". He does this, but ends up on the wall himself when Cate goes to pick up her medicine. Altogether, this was a fun little episode. While it got a little tired with the Carrie side story, I think the main one was pretty well handled. Bridget's acting was very good and, as usual, Ritter was awesome in his lines and delivery. It was a little bit slap-stick (in a good way) because one problem would exit the room and another would enter from the opposite end.

This episode of \'8 Simple Rules\' was a cute episode for airing after the pilot episode. In this episode, you see more sides to the characters; Kerry is a sensitive middle-child who cares for animals (which is revealed in this episode as she gets mad at her father because of something he did with his newspaper). Rory is a videogame nut and tries to get into the house and play video games as much as he can (proving he is like most of teenage boys amoung todays society). The big point in this episode is that Bridget is caught shoplifting; but she insist she hasn\'t. All of this around Paul trying to watch the football game of the year and managing his trouble-making children since his wife Cate had to go out for the day.

This episode is truly a fun character-developing episode!

Very typical family sit-com. When it originally aired, it reminded me of a cleaned-up Roseanne. Watching it in reruns (on UPN), it still does!



I think it's strange that Katey Sagal --awesome actress-- was barely in the episode. Setting her up as a secondary character to John Ritter and the two daughters.



Paul (John Ritter) Hennessey, represents a devoted and understanding father very well in this episode. He puts his own comfort aside to indulge the drama, no matter how big or small, of his children.



The sisters, Bridget (Kaley Cuoco) and Kerry (Amy Davidson) have a natural chemistry with one another.



A cute episode.
