Hawes: I don't mind slumming for a little while.
Carella: We're all nice guys in the 87th.
Dr. Blaney: You can't break your jaw falling flat on your back.
Hawes: My wife works. As a matter of fact, she makes more money than I do. Carella: Who doesn't?
Dr. Stagler (about Murdock): I didn't know he was a murderer. Linda: You didn't want to know.
Meyer (to his family): The best police department is one with hardly any manners at all.
Meyer: Cotton Hawes is a dumb cop.
Kling: Anything new? Havilland: Yeah, you've got lipstick on your cheek.
Hawes: Is there anything I can do? Havilland: Yeah, relax.
Murdock: How do I know you know what you're doing? Linda: You just have to take your chances.
Hawes: Is there a back way outta this place? Hotel Clerk: Yeah, that's why they have to pay in advance.
Carella: Murdock, you've got a manslaughter rap against you now. Don't make it worse.
Havilland (to Murdock): You're not so tough without a gun, are you?
This marks the only episode where Detective Meyer's children appear.

Robert Colbert had just finished appearing on Maverick as Brent Maverick and would later become a regular on Time Tunnel and The Young and the Restless.
John Aniston, seen here in an early role, is the father of actress Jennifer Aniston and well-known to Days of Our Lives viewers for his role as Victor Kiriakis.
The character of Cotton Hawes would become a regular in the 87th Precinct novels although this episode marks his only appearance of the series.
