Carella (to Tommy): I think she's marrying you for your industrial empire.
Tommy: How do I look? Carella: Fine if you're getting married in Scotland. [Tommy has forgotten to put on his trousers.]
Carella: Why is mama going to pieces out there? Angela: Since when has mama not gone to pieces?
Claire: Grooms can take care of themselves. Kling: If they could take care of themselves they wouldn't be grooms.
Kling (to Claire): You know me, Kling with the roving eye.
Claire: I haven't had such a rush since I got engaged. Carella: A policeman's girl leads a real wild life.
Claire: I'm the only girl who's going to wear this ring on her honeymoon. Kling: Good, maybe by that time it'll be paid for.
Kling (to Claire): Give me a nice, safe justice of the peace anytime.
