In this episode of 90210, the following happens. We open this episode, with Annie informing the family that she and her boyfriend Jason (from back in Kansas) have broken up. But Annie's heartbreak doesn't last for long, as she soon meets another student Ty. Silver posts another video blog and this time it's about Ethan and the fact that he cheated on Naomi. When Naomi sees the video she flips out and slaps Ethan. Ty takes Annie out for a meal, and takes her on a plane to San Francisco. Kelly got to a cafe and meets up with an old friend, Brenda (who was also in the original Beverley Hills 90210). We learn that Silver and Naomi used to be best friends, until Naomi told the school about the fact that Silver's father was having an affair. Dixon takes the fall for the prank about the other high school and so his father/principal has no other choice, but to throw him off of the La Cross team. When Debbie discovers that Annie has been to San Francisco without her knowledge, she gets mad at Annie. But soon other members of the La Cross team admit to being in on the prank and so Dixon gets back on the team.

I am an old fan for Beverly Hills 90210, and know I begin to see the new 90210. The only thing that I dont understand is the fight between Naomi and Silver. Silver says that his father cheated his mother and told about it to Naomi. In Beverly Hills this happened when she was a baby. So my question is, were the parents again together and cheated the fater again? or just they re-write another story?

I like this new serie 90210 and of course there is nothing original, but at least it's interesting. I think you have to be a little patience to let envelopt the story.

Sorry my english :P I try my best
  • Awesome episode.

Dixon impresses his peers when he tries out for the lacrosse team, but has to deal with jealous teammates who will stop at nothing to sabotage him. Annie misses the deadline to audition for the spring musical but sparks fly when she meets the leading actor Ty, one of the most popular students on campus. Ty impresses Annie by flying her to San Francisco for dinner in his private jet, but Annie fails to mention her plans to her parents. Adrianna bails at a movie audition and Naomi learns that her boyfriend, Ethan, is cheating on her - something Annie witnessed in the previous episode. The Jet Set was an awesome episode, I love most of the storyline, the adults storyline isn't that interesting yet but it will probably get somewhere late on in the show. However, I love the younger ones storyline, every interesting to watch. I love Annie and Ethan, there my favourites. I loved the end where Ethan brings Annie the teddy they won together, but then she was kissing that other guy. Well a good episode from 90210, can;'t wait to see more.
  • A little bit more character development. I watched this back to back with the previous one so they kind of run together, but it was entertaining.

I'll be brief because I basically already said all I had to say about this 2-part series premiere with my review of the first episode.

The confrontation-trifecta of Naomi, her mom, and the Principal (still learning the names) gave me a lot of hope for Naomi's character. Sure she's kind of a drag, but having her stand up for herself like that was a great move by the writers--I'm referring mostly to when she asked her mom to leave the room, which thankfully wasn't done in a bratty way. Her parents don't seem to have much confidence in her, but at least she's got some confidence in herself.

Unfortunately she was kind of a jerk to Silver. That story about what Naomi did to Silver was terrible, and, you know, kind of makes me not like Naomi anymore. Then again, Silver is going to some extremes. I love her character so far, but I hate video blogging. I'm too old for it apparently. Ty and Annie... I really hope he turns out to be a jerk. Come on. A private jet? And he's what, 16? That's a bit wild. The prank was pretty cool, and I'm really starting to like Dixon and Navid.

Well, little longer than I wanted to write but ah well. Overall I feel like I'm getting a little bit more of the character development that I wanted. And hey, Shannon Doherty! I never watched the original series (I was freaking 4 years old when it began!) but I think she's awesome, so kudos to her.

Ok, the series is getting better with this episode, but again I think there are a lot of strange dialogue. For instance; Ryan must be at least 30, why would it be strange for him to date someone who has a child? (just checked the actors bio, turns out he's only 24, I just assumed he was older since he's a teacher) Anyway, Kelly is older and I just think her comment about how strange it must be for him that she has a child, was weird. But I think that 90210 is growing. Too bad there was to much drama in the first episodes, they could have saved some for the rest of the season. I'm sure there's plenty more, but they don't have to stuff so much into one episode, people will still watch.
  • I just don't get why they bothered with this show...there isn't one new or unique thing about it. Acting is below average, storylines are over-dramatic and it really didn't shine.

This show annoys me already...the second part to the premier really just pushed the button for me. I'll start with the acting...it's awful! The main actress who plays Annie tries way too hard and the other cast members are hardly great. The storylines are so clichéd and unoriginal that it's unbelievable. Drugs, cheating on your girlfriend, moving to somewhere completely new...what is the show trying to achieve?

I couldn't care less about the sports aspect to the show and even the whole pig prank didn't interest me. Annie going on a date by plane with someone she just me was the nail in the coffin - soppy, done to death and just unrealistic. Also in the first part the actresses attempt on the stage for that play was actually laughable. There were too many characters because I can't even think of half there names.

Naomi was alright but her storyline just wasn't done as well as it could have been. There were a few lines that were funny or actually sounded normal but other than that the dialogue was reused, as were the stories. The older stuff seems really disconnected to this and I didn't even watch the original 90210.

Sorry but...I won't be tuning in much longer...I'd rather stick with The OC, uk's Skin's or hell I'd rather watch One Tree Hill.
  • was waiting for this moment almost for 15 years...

I definitely start liking the new characters... my faves are Silver -- really awesome girl (hard to believe she's Kelly's sister, though Kelly is my fave from original "90210"), Ryan -- really charming young teacher (but then again I'm totally Kelly/Dylan fan, and really hope that Dylan's Sammy's father), Ty -- just super hottie (nothing more to say about him...). and that's all I guess. probably later I'll start caring about other characters.

and I almost started to cry when I saw Kelly and Brenda together for the first time for... like what?.. 14-15 years? it's a miracle. I know about all Jennie and Shannen's problems back in 1990's, but still seeing them together is really like returning to the past.

    FAVE SCENE: Kelly/Brenda meeting.

FAVE QUOTE: Brenda (to Kelly): My only question is... what are we doing here just having milkshakes?

With the second episode, we get into the meat of things. Gramma Wilson is a bit of a clutzo and spills her morning drinkie poo on her laptop, it's going to need to be fixed. I thought the part of this week's story, about the trashing of the hallway by a rival sports group was spot on. It was a fun injection into the storyline. In addition, the backatcha prank was excellent as well. Ethan and Naomi seem to be on again off again with their relationship. However, it seems that Ethan may still be carrying a torch for Annie. Annie however, meets another dude (Ty) who will be in the school play and they make plans for a date. Everything seems to be pretty whirlwind with this show ... things happen so quickly. Ty and Annie go on a date in San Francisco, because you know ... having a private plane is par for the course there in the BH!!! I'm pretty happy that Brenda isn't going to be a regular character. I didn't really like Dougherty in the first 90210, really disliked her in Charmed, and I'm still not enamoured with her. She can go anytime. Ethan catches Annie and Ty making out later on the next night. It seems that Miss Annie is in deep doo-doo because her mother found out she was whisked off to SF. So of course all the make-out sessions will have to be at her homestead for a little while. All around good episode, nothing earthshattering. We're still getting to know the characters and the relationships. Etc Etc. Looking forward to next week.
  • A very adventure-filled part 2 of the 2 hour series premiere. Definitely worth watching.

The episode revolves around Dixon trying to be buddies with his teammates by playing a prank on a rival high school, Annie making a new friend she could be more with, Silver trying to get back at Naomi, Naomi trying to get back at Ethan, Ethan starting to have feelings for Annie, Adrianna auditioning for a movie, the Principal trying to decide when to be a parent, when to be a principal and when to be a friend, and Ryan trying to get Kelly (who gets a visit from Brenda) to go on a date with him.

This episode shows that Dixon is loyal to his friends when he finally makes them, he's willing to take the fall. Annie flies to San Francisco on her first date with Ty, the rich boy. I personally would prefer her with Ethan, I think they make a much better couple, but Annie is just overwhelmed by everything Ty could give her money-wise. Naomi is hurt by everyone knowing Ethan cheated on her because Silver posted it on her blog, so she makes out with Georgie. This results in Ethan breaking up with her. The highlight of this episode is Silver's heartbreaking story about what Naomi did to her. Anyone who might have liked her in the very beginning of the series, including me (kind of), will seriously reconsider. Adrianna gets her hopes up for a movie audition, because her mom wants her to, but later feels like an outsider. Ryan acts so cute when trying to act cool around Kelly and failing at that. This is the other highlight of the episode. After watching this episode, I became a big Kelly/Ryan shipper.

    Overall a great episode, I give it a 9.5.
  • "The harder the slap, the faster they come back." Episode 2 hits us with a medium slap, but yes I will come back.

Episode 2 reveals a bit more about each of the new characters and it's delicious, fresh and trashy. Annie gets to "hang" with Ty Collins, the richest guy in school. He sweeps her off her feet literally, by flying her on his private jet for a romantic Italian dinner in San Fransisco. Something about him tells me that he's not as sweet as he may seem. She seems to have gotten over her heartbreak rather quickly... Naomi plots her revenge on Ethan, clearly in a desperate attempt to hold onto their relationship and make him jealous. Unfortunately (for everyone) she decides to lock lips with George, the goofy and bulky B-grade lacrosse player. We get to see some of the vulnerable side of Naomi, and how insecure she really is. But she's quick to get back on her game, what will she do next?? Perhaps she will plot against Silver. Who reveals the real reason she hates Naomi, when Annie asks her about their matching 'friendship' tattoos. Silver seems really interesting, different and cool. Ethan on the other hand seems inspired by Annie's return, "I'm trying to find that guy that you liked from a couple of summers ago". Puh-lease! Show us something more interesting!!! I don't see the appeal. Dixon provides such much needed entertainment, plotting revenge on a rival school by letting pigs run wild on the grounds. As for Ryan, who has a crush on the school counsellor Kelly, he is very cute! Apart from a bit of a faux pas in calling her child "baggage", he arrives on her doorstep with his dimples and flowers. He's the cutest boy on the show by far. Bring on the drama!
  • A good second episode. Alliances are formed, relationships are tested, and romances are started, ended, and intended.

This episode was much better than the pilot. It left me wanting more. I have set the DVR to record this series because of this episode. I love the cast----very attractive. Actually, as far as that goes, this cast is much more attractive than the original 90210. Ty and Annie get something started, while Ethan brings things to an end with Naomi, and he starts to think about Annie as maybe more than just friends. (Can you say foreshadowing?). Again, I like the development of Silver as Kelly's sister. I am so happy there is a tie to the original 90210 (Kelly is part of this show, and not just as a token original---they are building great plot lines for her).
  • Better than the first one, proved me and everyone else wrong. Still 90210 is not the best of its kind.

    "Great"
Once upon a time, there was a TV-show named Beverly Hills 90210. It was a good show, not the best. But it was special because it was the first one in this genre. The cast was happy, and after some seasons the show's members lived happily ever after...

Until the remake, which actually is not supposed to be a remake, came up. The special thing about this show is, that it is just about what happened in between part 1 and 2 + how it goes on.

So now we have stories about the old characters, grown up with families or kids AND stories about their kids.

WOW! What a innovative idea, which shows the creativity of Hollywoods' screenwriters and producers...

Now I can say, there are many characters which i don't like and a few better ones. For example I'm happy that Shannan Doherty is back in action. The bad thing for the show in my opinion is that (except for the grandmother) I don't like the Wilson family ergo I don't like more than the half of the main cast...

Episode 1 was disappointing, because of the high expectations. Episode 2 was much better, because the expectations weren't that high anymore. Come on, rich world. You can do better. The O.C. and Gossip Girl have set the benchmark higher!
  • Ethan breaks up with Naomi.

    6.2
    "Fair"
Well the emulation of Gossip Girl continues. From the private jet to the school pranks, it's as if CW booked a GG spinoff based in California. That being said, this second episode was a step-up from the pilot. The characters Silver and Naomi are starting to come into their own and we are seeing some interesting development from the rest of the crew.

Ryan Eggold continues to annoy me to no end with his unfunny jokes and irritating presence. Jessica Walter wasn't as humorous as the first episode but she still brings an entertaining presence to the show. Shenae Grimes is showing signs of becoming an actress you get behind and root for in her journey across California and Dustin Milligan plays her male counterpart well. They're obviously going to be together but at least a decent amount of anticipation has been built toward it.

While the characters may not be as appealing, comical or enjoyable as CW's other teen dramas this episode took a step toward 90210 evolving into a possibly decent show.
  • the second part of the series pilot wasnt any better than part one!!

    1.0
    "Abysmal"
i dunno this show isnt appealing to me at all, it just seems that they've taken the best parts of the o.c. and gossip girl and just added bad storylines and bad acting(and writing) and mixed it together and made a really bad show!!the only parts that were remotely intresting were the parts with the old cast(kelly, brenda, nat, and the whole thing about silvers parents!!!(cant believe mel cheated on jackie)) i like teen dramas as much as the next person, but this one i couldnt relate to at all!!!there are too may storylines(and a bunch of them are ripoffs of the old show, bad ripoffs at that)however i do wonder who fathered sammy(kellys kid) dylan or brandon(or neither!!) one more thing i didnt understand, i know they are using the exterios shot of the same high school as the original show, but what about the courtyard, and what is up with the acidcolor walls???
  • Pilot, part deux!

    9.0
    "Superb"
Well I like this part way better than part 1, because you really get to know the cast more, know who's friends & not friends in the series already. Silver & Annie are now best buddies. While Annie's brother trying to fit in pulls a prank on the opposing team with the help of his team & ends taking the blame so he can stay in the in crowd which is really what High School is like, the thing that High School isn't is getting rides to San Francisco by a jet. Which was unusually interesting. And of course what every high school goes trough, breakups. Which appears in this episode, another thing, Brenda returns! And I like how they show more of Kelly now a days, with the teacher pursuing her just like high school. A decent part 2.
  • Brenda returns...

    "Perfect"
Let me just start out by saying that I absolutely loved this episode, and I thought that it was even better than part one of the pilot. All the story lines were great, especially Annie's story line, and I also loved Dixon and Navid's story line. I'm absolutely loving Navid so far. He's so funny. I'm also loving the character Silver too. Tabitha was hilarious in this episode. This episode definitely made me like Ethan a lot more than I like him in part one of the pilot. I guessing that there's going to be a love triangle featuring Ethan, Annie and Ty based on their interactions with each other in both part one of the pilot and this episode (part two). I loved the story line with Ryan and Kelly. I have to say that I thought that it was great seeing Brenda again in this episode. All things considered, I thought that this was a very well written, very well acted and very well made episode of 90210 from everyone involved, and I can't wait to see what happens next on the show.
  • She's Baaaaack!

    7.2
    "Good"
Second episode in, and I'm still a little ambivalent with almost all the storylines. Things just seem a little muddled still, with the lacrosse stuff and the crazy addict actress girl subplot kinda dragging the show down.

While Shannen Doherty was great, I still don't think the adult/teen storylines are mixing well together. It just seems like two different shows, each vying for screen time. Still, I'm intrigued by Brenda's appearance, and you could definitely see some chemistry between her and Ryan. I know both Shannen and Jennie Garth probably don't want this, but Brenda and Kelly seriously need to have a catfight at some point down the line.

I didn't buy Annie and her date with Actor Guy. For one, it's difficult for two characters to have chemistry when both actors are so terrible, and the whole "airplane flight to dinner date" story has been done a million times before. And Shenae Grimes is still majorly overacting.

Naomi and Ethan are hilariously awful. The scene where Naomi stomped through the hallways with that snarl on her face was ridiculous, and the actor that plays Ethan is pretty much sleepwalking through the role. Yeesh! Dawson's Creek, Popular and The O.C. all had great casts of newcomers (okay, maybe not Mischa Barton), but almost the entire cast of 90210 are universally abysmal.

I'm really starting to like Silver (great acting by Jessica Stroup in her revelation scene), while Tabitha was again hilarious. Really loved her interaction with Linda Gray, another member of the Aaron Spelling repertory company.

An improvement on episode one by far, but the show still hasn't hooked me. If it weren't for the 90210 "brand name" and the appearances by Jennie and Shannen, this would not have gotten on the air judging by the material so far.

  • The endless promotion pretty much guaranteed some degree of disappointment here...

    7.0
    "Good"
I figured I'd at least review the better part of the episode (I gave part one a 5.5 only), as some hints of character development came about. I really want to like this show, but it's not easy so far. Naomi has potential maybe, but as of now she seems sort of lame. I mean, I can see they're trying to make her out as a b****, but if they are she's a pretty lame one. Like when she didn't break up with Ethan after he cheated on her...leading to a horrible scene of him breaking up with her - um, what? That made no sense.

Annie is okay, at least she has morals as of now. Her brother on the other hand sorta sucks already (like how he texted Naomi about Ethan cheating on her). His weird friend is also lame, and Silver, and that other random girl with the dark hair that's shorter - the one who's all hating Annie because she gets to sing in the play now. She seems useless. Annie's new boyfriend guy is dull too, as is that creeper teacher who's trying to get with Kelly. At least Shannon Doherty finally appeared and got me excited for a few seconds when she got to reunite with her old-school 90210 alumni. So at least someone on the show can act, that's a plus.

I'd actually say Ethan is my favorite character so far, as he seems to have some type of character dimension and remorse about things. So sad he had to see Annie kiss her new rich boy toy at the end - so the episode ended on a good scene at least and I'll give the show another try. I'll hope for some improvements, but I'm not expecting too terribly much.
