Steve's wayward brother, Kenny, returns to Fort Hamilton to begin a family business. Also, plans to form a girl's soccer team stall when a depressed Mary decides that the effort required to participate is too much. Bob takes it upon himself to prove her wrong.

A teachers strike leads to strained friendships and division amongst the school's staff. Also, the return of Jenny's father after a long absence gives her hope for a normal family life and Principal Blue Bradman makes a surprising announcement.

Tragedy strikes 9B when one of the students is killed in a car crash. Also, after Melody wins a trip to Tokyo in an essay contest, she is faced with a dilemma and Bob offers to help her as well as helping John deal with a learning disability.

A teenage single mother hopes to begin a new life at the school, but must deal with challenges which threaten her plans. Meanwhile, John misinterprets Bob's interest in the attractive new student.

Bob is forced to deal not only with new student John's odd behavior but also with the vice-principal, whose daughter, Erin, collapses and is hospitalized while having a miscarriage.
