Do we need to start another ADW trivia to get this forum jumping again?

Mahagonie, this site is dead. I don't even check in much anymore. I thought, for sure, the DVD's coming out would boost things. I saw very little chat...

And it's a shame, because I know ADW inside and out, and (I know I'm a dork) but I love to talk about it...but there's no activity on the site!

Not only is this site dead, but it seems like the show is barely alive on Oxygen. It's never shown on the weekends anymore. Ogygen never runs a mini-marathon of ADW like it does Roseanne and Living Single and other shows. It's not on in the late afternoon (Eastern time) where it could grab its biggest audience. It's on at 11am and 2pm which makes it difficult for
most people to see. I am no longer able to watch it on a regular basis.

Plus this TV.com site is not as user friendly as the old tvtome site. You cannot revisit old forum topics and messages. I used to enjoy going back and reading some of the old messages.

Oh well, maybe things will get better in the future.

What was up with Oxygen moving the show to odd times like that? I would think a show like ADW would be suitable for early morning (catching students, young adults getting ready for school and work) and late afternoons (when people are home from school and work). Besides, Roseanne comes on like fifty million networks anyway.

I think they are trying to hype Living Single up since the DVD is coming out in February.

It didn't help matters with Nick at Nite had a Roseanne marathon going on at the same time. When was the last time Oxygen had a Different World marathon?

i am up for ADW trivia! i watched from the cosby show days growing up and remember being almost as excited about ADW as Just the 10 of us. teehee. though the good ol days for me would be about 5 years ago when i'd get off work at 2 am and after a little family ties came a channel change for back to back saved by the bell followed by back 2 back ADW. so i am happy to join and promise to contribute to this forum.

OK, let's get this trivia going.

Rules: You cannot go into the episodes listings and read the quotes to figure out which episode a quote came from (as if you even have the patience to do that!). You quote must be the complete sentence and more that three words.

Name the person/episode that this quote is from:

    1. "You're a policeman's daughter. He don't know you lie like a rug."
    2. "French fry, my brother?"
    3. "You pseudo intellectual with a pseudo African name spouting pseudo nonsense about a whole lot of nothing. In fact, the only thing that's real about you is your green eyes, my brother!"
    4. "I'm an educated black man, your worst nightmare, punk!"
    5. "Haven't you heard? We're in the Navy now!"

I know these quotes are so random, but it's all I can think about right now. Give me some time.

    2. Ron said this quote, I am not sure what episode

    4. Dwayne said this in the MLK themed episode for either season two or three. I remember that Ron was with him and they were a football game and ran into some racist white boys.

    3. Kim told that to Freddie's boyfriend. - my boy now on CSI - can't spell his Shaza Zulu it was the episode when he called Kim out for dating that white boy - Freddie's cousin.

    4.  Dewayne said that while sitting in jail with some white guys that sprayed the N word on his car after a football - one of my favorites.

This is the Mammy episode, right after Whitley and Dwayne split up. Whitley said it to Freddie.

The ADW boards are dead here and at sitcomsonline.com, hopefully when the series comes to Nick at Nite and a better timeslot, we can get some active discussions and dialogue going again about the show.
