Clair: Freddie, when I met you this morning, I wanted to weep for your parents. I did. But tonight...well, you've proved there's more than one way to make a difference.
Clair: Who is she? Dwayne: About the worst person you could think of for me. (Clair's eyes widen.) Clair: Not Whitley Gilbert!
Dwayne: The whole college scene...I mean, no one cares about a relationship. It's all about gettin' over. Clair: And you're not at all interested in getting over? Dwayne: Well, it's not the only thing I'm interested in. Okay, freshman year...yeah, it was. Clair: Freshman year you were interested in my daughter.
Dr. Zander: If this is a weigh station for the Underground Railroad, you're gonna make more than an A. You're gonna make history. Freddie: Me? Walter: Us? Dr. Zander: Her.
Kim: What if I mess up on a patient? I can't even chop zucchini!
Clair: Honey, you should not be wearing a hair net; you should be wearing a halo! (Kim cries.)
Clair (after Jaleesa states her goals): Go on, girl!
Clair: You should go to the Career Development office. Whitley: Isn't that for poor people?!
Jaleesa (to Clair): How's the family? How is Denise? Whitley (interrupting Clair): I heard she finally cut those ropes out of her hair! I bet you're relieved!
Phylicia Rashad crosses over in her role from The Cosby Show.
Glynn Turman does not appear in this episode.
Ahmad Rashad is a former football star for the University of Oregon and the NFL's Minnesota Vikings who became a popular sports announcer. He was married to Phylicia Rashad, and was Debbie Allen's brother-in-law.
When Clair is interviewing Kim, Kim cries, "You like me." This seems like a reference to Sally Field's acceptance speech at the 1985 Academy Awards
