Whitley loves to shop, and who doesn't?... Well, maybe her father, who foots the bill for her considerable credit card expenses. Fed up with his daughter's costly lack of self-control, Mercer tells her the well is dry--he's cutting her off, except for school-related matters like books and classes. A flabbergasted Ms. Gilbert goes into a tailspin.
She pleads mercy from Jaleesa, with whom she shares an apartment. It's hard for them to remain friends, however, as Whitley can't cough up her share of the bills. Gilbert cries that her life is heading downhill in a hurry. Quick with a conciliatory smile is the ever-charming Dwayne. He's perhaps a little too gallant for his girlfriend, Kinu...
Freddie pulls her buddy Kim out of the med school books long enough to go unwind at Ron's party. Kim catches up by way of a joke that turns the tables.
