This story takes place in Salt Lake City in the city's oldest section. A couple, April and Matt are living in a smaller house in Salt Lake City when April gets a job promotion and better pay. They've always wanted an old Victorian house so that is what they buy. Matt, who is a general contractor, starts renovating the house and realizes that there is a secret room off a small walk in closet. It has a small opening and then a larger one once inside the room. He renovates it into a bigger closet. Meanwhile, at their old home they are robbed so they put it up for rent and move into the new one even though the renovations aren't complete. Things start to happen right away and they realize that their house is haunted. While April sleeps someone (or something) braids her hair. Matt sees this and wakes April. Things go from small bumps in the night into larger ones, including April being choked and the bed they are on levitating. A pair of paranormal researchers spend the night in the house and record over 100 EVP's. Most are children but one is a strong male voice telling them to get out. A completely scary show. The story behind the haunting is sad as well.moreless
  • really creepy

A family moves into a victorian style house at salt lake city, thinking that it's their dream home. It turns out that a mormon polygamist lived in the house more than a hundred years ago and continues to haunt the house. This is perhaps the creepiest episode yet. Using interviews mixed with reenactment, simple special effects and a good narration, this episode is just awesome. It brings out that eerie feeling that you get when watching a horror movie, but this is a documentary so it makes that twice as scary. I really enjoyed this one, the producers and writers came up with a really cool episode, I had a good time watching this.moreless
  • One of my favourite scary movies growing up was called "The Changeling" starring George C Scott. This episode rather reminded me of that classic ghost story.

The movie in question was a great haunted house story because it featured an enormous, rambling, old mansion, mischievous poltergeist activity, a spooky seance, a mysterious hidden door to a secret room, and a vengeful ghost. This episode was kinda like that. A big ol' Victorian mansion in Salt Lake City, a young, unsuspecting couple, a nasty, vengeful spirit, and another of a tricky little child. There's a wonderful scene in which unseen fingers braid the wife's hair. I also found it refreshing that the couple shared their experiences, and for some reason, found it more believable. It was a really nice touch to have the paranormal team perform EVPs throughout the house, and even more interesting to get the kinds of results that they did. If only those EVPs were available on the web somewhere! I have to admit, too, that there's just something wonderfully spooky about a big room locked away and hidden from the world by a tiny 2x2 opening.moreless
