CBS's yearly entertainment special focuses on the crucial topic of adoption. The special is presented in association with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and the Children's Action Network. The foundation was established in 1992 by Wendy's restaurant founder Dave Thomas, who was adopted. It is dedicated to increasing the awareness of the more than 119,000 children in the United States foster care system who have been freed for adoption. The Children's Action Network was founded in 1990 by leaders in the entertainment industry to harness the power of the entertainment media on behalf of children. The special is a part of CAN's National Adoption Campaign to raise awareness of the joys of adopting and to find homes for the children who are waiting.moreless

    This Holiday Adoption Special hosted by Faith Hill will be nothing but a success. She is taking the time out of her busy family and professional life, along with the other popular guests, to help over 130,000 foster children in America, who have had their parental rights terminated, try to find their "forever" home. Unfortunately, 35,000 foster children age out of the foster care system annually without ever having a family to call their own. If every person that even thought about adopting ... did adopt... there would be no orphans (in the world). Please consider adopting one of these special children to join your family. Enjoy!
