A Muppets Christmas Special is an NBC television movie starring Jim Henson's Muppets. After an accident in the post office on Christmas Eve, Gonzo discovers he accidentally went home with three letters to Santa. Stricken with fear that three people won't receive their gifts from Santa, Gonzo enlists the other Muppets to help him hand-deliver the letters to the North Pole, guaranteeing everyone will have a happy Christmas. It's up to Gonzo, Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear and the other Muppets to save the day. Along the way they meet many new friends, including North Pol Airlines clerk Joy (played by Uma Thurman) and a naughty-listed police officer named Frank Meany (played by Nathan Lane). Other celebrity cameos include Whoopi Goldberg and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. This is the Muppets' 28th television special since their first aired in 1970. A Muppets Christmas Special is a fun-for-the-whole-family holiday celebration, featuring music by veteran Muppets songwriter Paul Williams.
