A Royal Celebration is a TV movie from the United Kingdom that portrays
the fairy tale courtship and wedding between Prince Edward Wessex and
Sophie Rhys-Jones. Edward Wessex plays himself in the film, falling in
love with a public relations executive in 1997. He manages to win her
heart, but Edward has a little trouble convincing his mother, Queen
Elizabeth, and the British media that the marriage is a good idea. The
film's director, Robin Bextor, uses archive footage to characterize
Sophie and The Queen's role, and to reenact the actual wedding.
