It's not because Tila Tequila is a knock out. With all the competition out there she's not, she's a little above average at best, but she's marketing her wares well and finding success. That's intriguing and one has to admire her for her tenacity.
Her narcissm is what makes the show intriguing. It's not that we don't expect it from the hard life she's endured before fame, but it's how she tries to use shock value to separate herself from the usual Bankok hooker persona, is interesting. There is a sweet side to her personality, when she's touched sometimes and this becomes addictive because of the contrast between the hooker mentality and the sweetness, but it lasts about a half a second, before she plays mindfck games with her suitors. Her tendency to judge parents as straight laced because they don't march their secret perversions out on their shoulder is fascinating. She gives the worldly granny a lap dance, and granny steals the show with her incredible intuitiveness about the girl, which is never revealed. She makes sexual comments about the rich boy in front of his folks to demonstrate her need to control every situation, which holds us as we realize how out of control her life really is and why she needs to do this. It makes you feel for her but beyond that, it draws you in.
Tila Tequila is a marketing wonder. She's got all the right stuff for a youthful marketing campaign. I wonder how well she'll fare with age. That will be Ms. Tequila's real testament to stardom.
