Denton's last remaining quarry is vandalised. Frost finds a baby in his office and is delighed to discover it belongs to DS Hazel Wallace. He gets Hazel to look into some burglaries that have been occurring just after removal jobs have been completed. At the quarry a second body is found. The only witness to the murder is an autistic boy, who immediately becomes prime suspect. Frost finds out about some dodgy dealings in the past between the quarry owner and his former partner. The boy escapes through a window and the officers on duty get a severe telling off. A woman comes in saying her seven-year-old son has been abducted by her husband. The quarry owner then turns up dead in a brook a small way from the quarry. The autistic boy is found but he has rigged Denton Quarry with explosives and is threatening to blow the quarry and himself up. Frost manages to get the boy down but the explosives in the boy's bag still explode. Frost then goes and arrests the quarry owner's partner for the double murder and finds the other boy safe and sound in a removals depot. He arrests the missing boy's father for robbery.moreless

  • Great episode of Frost. So good to see the character DS Hazel Wallace back with a baby.

This episode of A Touch of Frost was wonderful! David Jason as Frost was terrific. Frost was his typical grumpy, nonconventional self. It was a delight to see Caroline Harker as DS Hazel Wallace. Hazel is back with a baby this time. John Lyons as DS Toolans is good as always. Jim Sturgess did a terrific job as an autistic young man, who thinks that he sees UFOs. Jim could have overdone his character, but he did not. Frost's boss seems to have mellowed over the years. Mullet is listening to Jack and relying on him. The writers do not have Mullet yelling at Frost as he did in the past. He seems to have given up trying to reform Jack. This was a thoroughly enjoyable episode. The only thing wrong is that there are just too few episodes per year now.moreless
