The gargoyles names are based on ancient mythology: Chimera was an ancient beast that could turn people to stone, while Typhon was an Egyptian beast with the head of a bull.
On its romp through the city, Oblina's brain goes to a punk club, takes a ride on a roller coaster, a baseball game, and a toy store.
Ickis says to Oblina, "All work and no play makes the monster's brain fry!", an obvious parody to the famous "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" from "The Shining".
