    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • When Marshal talks to Patsy, there's a bottle on the table next to her. They cut to Bo and come back. When they come back, Marshal is now sitting down with a glass in his hand, and the bottle has vanished.

      • A number of the objects in the kitchen move around between takes.

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Saffy: I'm not going to a private clinic. If I need to, I want to go to a hospital where they deliver all the time.
Eddie: They do deliver all the time, darling! There's waiter service, credit card swipe delivery, sweetheart. Sushi, macrobiotic and babies!

      • Saffy: One finger is one centimetre.
Eddie: I don't know, darling, I... How many do you need, darling?
        Saffy: Ten.
Eddie: Ohhh, darling, that's a big smile.

      • Patsy: I'LL KILL HER!
Katy: It's only baby juice. It'll be all right. Then again, silly old you!
Eddie: All right, all right, it's fine. I've just spoken to the Albert Hall and Toni and Gilberto say that if you're a little bit late it doesn't matter. They can keep the Silvikrin Dancers on for another number after "Because I'm Worth It."

      • Saffy (on pregnancy): Mum, I'm 40 weeks. I'm due any time.
Eddie: 40 weeks! You don't have to go 40 weeks! I never went 40 weeks, darling. I've told you: pay a little bit extra, get the express delivery service, darling. They whip it out as soon as it loses its gills.
Gran (to Eddie): You were in my tummy for 44 weeks. You refused to be born, until one of the nurses lured you out with a sweet pudding.

    • NOTES (3)

      • Saffy and John have named the baby Jane.

      • A few scenes were omitted from US versions that revolved around Katey Grin's "Chicago" antics. The full versions have only been seen in the U.K, and weren't even put in the american DVD set. They do however appear on the british DVD sets.

      • The slapping fight was filmed 7 times, due to Saunders and Sawalha constantly breaking down into laughter.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Saffy and John name the baby Jane, which is an allusion to the heroine of Henry Farrell's famous novel "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" She was portrayed by Bette Davis in the 1962 film adaptation, and the movie was later parodied by Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders in their sketch comedy television show.
