Despite having tried every fad diet going, Eddie is still desperate to be thin, and decides to try detox. Spurred on by a Sex And The City-style lunch with her bitchy girlfriends, Eddie embarks on a strict regime of water and red meat and enrolls herself in a grueling military fitness program. Despite Patsy's best efforts, Eddie swears off champagne and begins to shed the pounds. But her nights are plagued with visits from God and the Devil, who have their own agendas. Meanwhile, budding playwright Saffy bumps into a pretentious old school friend, Taylor Johns, who attempts to use her in his bid to further his acting career, and Patsy decides to see what life is like without her trademark Sixties forelock.moreless

      • Patsy: Eddie, you know your stomach's like a dog that doesn't know when it's going to be fed next and just hangs around until you want to kick it.

      • Eddie: 'Cos this isn't a lovely lovely fun, jumpy, lovely lovely day. This is horrible, painful, funless grind. Saffy: Welcome to my world.

      • Eddie: Just for once I want to take my clothes off and not be marked by them.

      • Patsy: Oh Eddie, you look fine. I mean you dress like... Eddie: A fat billboard, I know. Saffy: Is that the reason you wear labels, so the designer takes the blame? Eddie: Clunk clink clunk, didn't take a genius to figure that one out darling. DKNY bosoms, not mine!

    • NOTES (3)

      ADD NOTES
      • June Whitfield ("Gran Monsoon") declared that this episode contains the funniest moment of the fourth season: the one when Edina bends over as she's exercising and makes a "rude noise". Jane Horrocks ("Bubble") was said to have collapsed about three times during the recording, distracted by the noise and unable to deliver her next line.

      • When Eddie tosses the yogurt at the sink, it hits the camera lense. You can see the aftermath on the outtakes section on the Season 4 DVD.

      • This episode was mean to be 3rd, but changes in the schedule put this episode as 4th.

      ADD ALLUSIONS
      • Eddie: Liam & Noel
A quick and funny reference to the lead singers/brothers of the band Oasis who used to fight on stage frequently.
