Edina wakes up with a hangover and a panic attack. She joins her daughter who is having breakfast in the kitchen. Saffy looks at her mother accusingly for having broken her promise that she would stop drinking. Edina is mad that Saffy has accidentally put her royal jelly moisturizer on her toasts instead of honey and tries to guilt her daughter into making her a cup of coffee ("No, not instant darling. Grind some beans, for god's sake. Instant coffee is just old beans that have been cremated; I don't want that"). Edina is late for work and the preparations she's supposed to be making for the big fashion show she's throwing that evening. Before getting dressed she rings her Buddhist guru Chukhani who tells her to wear a green outfit. She claims to a dubious Saffy that the color is related to who she was in a previous existence. Edina wants her daughter to come with her to the fashion show but Saffy dismisses this as another one of her mother's "self-induced crises."
Edina ends up wearing a flashy red and orange designer outfit: "It's a Lacroix." Patsy shows up and leaves with Edina. Saffy sends her mother off saying: "Don't be late⦠Or drunk." On the way to her PR company Edina is depressed that she's been deserted by both her daughter and her son Serge. Patsy wonders what the point of having children is if they don't turn up to one's launches. After an unscheduled detour via Harvey Nichols to do some shopping, they both eventually arrive at Edina's office. Edina throws a fit when she discovers that one of the models, Yasmin Le Bon, has called in sick. The VIP guest list isn't looking too good either: Princess Anne will be in attendance instead of Princess Diana.
