  • One of my favorites because of the courtroom scene....

Edina & Patsy\'s exploits are the funniest part of this episode. Patsy keeps putting nicotine patches on Saffron while Edina looks on to get back at Saffron over making Edina have to cut back, they park their car on the sidewalk of Harvey Nicols, threaten an annoyed woman driver and honk at pedestrians in crosswalks, yelling \"It\'s a road, it\'s a road\"!!! And that\'s not all but these are the highlights.

The most notable part of this episode that no one\'s mentioned is Edina\'s speech in court when she & Patsy have been arrested. In fact, my favorite line of the whole thing (that at one time I used as my voice mail message) is:

\"Why, oh why, do we pay taxes, hmmmmmm???\"

Basically, Edina claims that England\'s government has too many ridiculous laws and wants to enact a stupidity tax, \"just tax the stupid people\". I\'m all for that tax!!

Absolutely Fabalous is probably the best show in the world! Now only is it world-famous, but very revealing of what so many people are really like. Easily the best episodes of the series are Poor, Hospital, and Fashion because they reveal so much about Edina's very complicated and well-rounded character. It reminds me very much of Karen on Will and Grace. The Ab Fab girls and Karen have so much in common. They are very disillusioned of the world around them, but only because it is very difficult in this world to express how you truly feel. Edina is frightened that she will become "poor" when in fact she probably will not be. She has sustained this lifestyle for so long that it would be very difficult to live any other lifestyle as is very evident in the grocery shopping scene, and driving herself after being so used to being chauffeured for so long. They immerse themselves into drugs and alcohol and oblivion because real-life is so painful for them. This is very indicative of so many people in this world by them putting on false fronts. Not only is this show hilarious but makes a statement, just like Will and Grace, Fawlty Towers, The Golden Girls, and even the Brady Bunch.

In this episode Saffy decides to fool Eddie into thinking she is poor. Her alimony is cancelled by her two ex-husbands and Saffie makes her meet up with an accountant to discuss her current financial situation. It is amusing to see Eddie's take on being frugal. Saffy asks her to purchase a smaller more efficent car and Eddie buys a two seater jaguar convertible. She ultimately ends up getting the car towed and creating so much havoc in the city that she has to do community service in an old folks home.
