The Bettina in this episode and "New Best Friend" is different from the Bettina from Season 1. In "White Box" and "New Best Friend" Bettina is an extreme minimalist, however in the first season ("France") Eddie talks about how she needs have items imported to decorate Bettina's apartment.
We learn in this episode that Saffy went to Africa to formally marry John. She married him, but discovered he had more wives. We also learn that this entire time, the house has been in Saffy's name.
