Billie and Zack are late for a premiere so he runs a light and speeds causing a chain of events to eventually culminating is a surprising ending. In a surprising turn of events Davis and Olivia seem to hit it off.
An improvement over the most recent episodes. This episode was still flawed with a number of unoriginal standard sitcom type plot devices. The hurrying to a location and the speeding causing a police officer to pull you over. Faking the pregnancy three weeks early to get out of the ticket. Zack already having some major violations so the story needs to be stretched out. The officer being very diligent in his work and besides his girlfriend is the nurse who is helping them in the ward. No one looking for Billie once they checked her in? Then the usual obstacles to escaping from their location and the eventual escape to freedom. Of course this one ended with a little bit of hiccup.
The characters are enjoyable, but this show has become tremendously predictable. Almost like they're going through the motions. It will be interesting to see if there are consequences to their actions or if they'll skip right to the aftermath of the final scene and how that will change Billie and Zack's life finally.
This being episode seventeen and the show scheduled for eighteen episodes all together. It will be interesting to see if they do this like a series finale or a season finale as this may be a sitcom on the bubble for next year. I have to believe overall CBS has to be happy with this show versus the other two on Wednesday nights, but we'll have to see which way they go.
Good actors in very mediocre stories does not make for a great series. Overall I would give this a passing grade though. We'll see what happens. Thanks for reading...
