Cheryl: You know Gracie acts tough, but she's really sensitive. Maybe she just need some attention? Jim: Attention? Come on, I jelled at her twice as much as rest of the team!
Jim: Trying is dying, doing is everything!
Ruby: Guess what! We are going to be in a WNBA when we grow up! Gracie: And then we're going to be famous tennis players, who design clothes.
ABC repeated this episode on May 16, 2007.
There appears to be a continuity issue. Dana's baby has appeared in episodes prior to this episode's airing, yet she appears to still be pregnant in this episode.
Gracie: And then we're going to be famous tennis players, who design clothes. Gracie is referencing Serena and Venus Williams, star tennis players and sisters who each have their own clothing lines. In 2004, Serena launched a line of designer apparel called Aneres (her name spelled backward). Venus currently runs her own line named "11," the logo of which appears on her visor in the shape of a V (her initial).
When Gracie refuses to practice basketball and tells Jim "we're talking about practice, not the GAME, we're talking about practice" she is imitating a famous and humorous press conference in which NBA star Allan Iverson (then of the Philadelphia 76ers), continously repeated that line to reporters who were questioning him about his missing a team practice.
