This is the first episode in which Billi Bruno (Gracie) has braces. They are visible when Gracie sasses Dana with "Will I be just like you and never shut up about it?"
If Jim took Kyle out of school only shortly after the start of the day, Kyle is probably in an afternoon kindergarten class (assuming no baseball games would ever be played in the morning).
If Kyle was missing his first day of kindergarten for the Cubs game, the game was presumably a matinee, but matinees are uncommon on weekdays. The most probable explanation is that the game in question was part of a day-night doubleheader.
Jim: Ah, sunny skies, Cubs up by three, I'm here with my son in his first Cubs game, first baseball game ever, can this day get any better. Kyle: I want to be a baseball player when I grove up! Jim: It just got better!
Jim: Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl! Cheryl: What? Jim: Great news! One of my clients got caught cheating on his wife. Long story short – he's meeting with his divorce lawyer tomorrow and I'll get his tickets to the Cubs game!
