This episode is a fine example for the whole series. In this one, Jim and Cheryl get into a fight about making an effort for each other. After a little talk with Dana, who has the same opinion as Jim, Cheryl decides to have a romantic dinner with Jim to show him that he was right and from now on, she will try hard to make an effort again. Unfortunately the planned dinner interferes with Jim's intention to watch the boxing event of the year with Andy on pay per view. That's why Jim decides to make Cheryl drunk and watch the boxing match instead. Unfortunately for Jim the truth will come out....

For me this is a typical "According to Jim" episode. First Jim and Cheryl get into a fight. Then Cheryl tries really hard to comply with Jim's desires (by planning a romantic dinner), but most of the time Jim has planned something different for the evening, like watching an important sports event. Then Jim tries everything he can do to get out of it, usually by fooling Cheryl. But like always Cheryl finds it out (even though Jim thinks that he will get away with it) and takes Jim to task. Latter, naturally admits his wrong-doing and they conciliate.moreless
