Cheryl: You know, I hear a lot of guys are celebrating St. Patrick's Day this year with a quiet dinner at home.
Jim: Yeah, the nursing home.
ABC repeated this episode on July 11, 2006.
In the series, Jim and Cheryl's family name has never been revealed; however, in this episode, the close-captioning for this episode has Jim's Green Man persona speaking from the mirror and saying the name Jim Boyle. Whether this is is the family name is open to interpretation because what is actually heard at that time is the Green Man saying, "Jim, boy...."
This episode aired at 8:30 p.m. eastern time.
Jim: (to the church committee) You're out of order! This whole court is out of order!
Jim's outburst references the movie ...And Justice For All, where Arthur Kirkland (Al Pacino) responds to Judge Rayford (Jack Warden) telling him he is out of order with this line. Often misquoted in other such allusions (as it is here), the correct quotation is, in fact, "You're out of order! This whole trial is out of order!"
The episode title "The Thin Green Line" is a reference to the movie "The Thin Red Line," and the British comedy series "The Thin Blue Line."
