According to Jim

Jim kissing Andy (while drugged) may be a nod to previous insinuations of Andy being gay.

Jim says to the twins that before they came along the ratio of girls and boys in the house was 3 to 1. Jim forgotten to include Kyle and that would have made the girls-boys ratio pre-twins to be 3 to 2 instead.

Jim and Cheryl have identical twin boys named Jonathen and Gordon.

The concert hall exterior is Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.

It was established during season 1 that Kyle and Andy share the same birthday. Andy was celebrating a birthday in this episode but not Kyle as well.

Every time Andy got on the mechanical bull, the time was always one point something seconds, even though he obviously did different times. In fact, the second time, you can tell that he was at lease 2 seconds.

Jim's middle name is Orenthal and Cheryl's middle name is Mabel.

When Jim is mentioning family expenses to the man at the thrift store (when he wants his things back), he says, among other things, "..four sets of braces...", a possible reference to the fact that Taylor Atelian (Ruby) and Billi Bruno (Gracie) had braces in some earlier episodes.

Just before Andy flashes Jim you can tell that Jim's arms are down by his side. Then the camera pans out, his arms are bent, then back to hanging down his side then back up again.

During the breakfast scene before the intro. Jim pours cereal for all three kids but when it came time to pour the milk, Kyle's bowl was empty and Jim poured milk into an empty bowl.

After Andy tinkers with the vacuum, Jim opens the canister and dust blows up onto his face. The camera angle shifts to Jim's right and there is no dust on his face. When the camera angle shifts back to the front, Jim has dust on his face again.

Ruby and Gracie have a Hannah Montana calender on the wall. ABC-TV which runs "According To Jim" is owned by Disney Productions which has the rights to both shows and characters.

Mary Gross also appeared in the episode "Paintball", but as a different character.

Twice in this episode, Jim shocks Andy with the defibrillator paddles. In reality, if a person with a normal heart rate was shocked with these paddles, it would kill them. They would not be able to simply get up and walk away like Andy did.

GOOF: Cheryl said that she told the doctor Jim's blood type when they called, but Jim's blood type was typed on the ID badge under his name.

The results of the three possible futures were:
1. Kyle hiding in the cabinet under the stairs and needing a tee for everything.
2. Kyle becoming a human pinata because he thinks getting hit leads to success.
3. Kyle becoming a killer because he thought success came from hurting others.

Jim Belushi's son, Robert Belushi plays grown-up Kyle in this episode.

This episode is a lot like the movie "The Butterfly Effect". Like Ashton Kutcher's character in the movie, every time Jim makes a little change it makes a big effect in each time era.

Cheryl says that she thinks she needs to go to the doctors to get ommoxicilin for her flu. However ommoxicilin is an antibiotic used generally for infections, it would not be used to treat the flu.

When Gracie hands Jim his false ID, she says, "Here we go, Mr. Dimas." This presumably refers to Jim's nonexistent "friend" Gus Dimas in Season 3's "Imaginary Friend".
