  • This show just keeps surprising me with the super creativity of the cakes and the oddball antics of the workers.

The disaster cake was incredible, so was the helmet. The Beaver cake had some great moments when they were at the table discussing the weeks cakes the snickering and looks at the mention of the beaver cake. That cake was great and the innuendo was not lost on the audience.

Taking the frustrations out on the dummy cakes was funny. I looked at his website and the cakes are incredible. I wish I had the money to afford one of his incredible pieces of art and creativity. He is great and surrounds himself with talented people. Go Duff.
  • Marriage and beavers!

Okay, Sherry got married and they made an amazing traditional cake. Yea!

Okay, the real good stuff. The Titanic ship half sunken with a plane crashed into it was pure genius. I think it was one of their best cakes ever. The size of the cake alone was impressive. Then with the details of the hundreds of black windows. Truly a masterpiece.

Besides that there was an awesome beaver by a new comer. She did a great job. The thing looked almost real if it were dipped in sugar.

The other masterpiece of the show was that medieval helmet/crest thing. I was amazed how it had the thin sides and the face plate on it. Finally all the decorations on it were truly incredible. It alone would have been one of the best cakes if it weren't for the Titanic.

So, in total, two great cakes, one real good, and a wedding cake. Great show.
  • Sherri's getting married!

This first episode of the new season certainly didn't disappoint. While I usually love Duff taking the crew on an outing, a skeet shoot wasn't all that interesting. Even at that, I love the way Duff and his colleagues have so much bloomin' fun together no matter what they do.

There were some amazing cakes this week, but none more fabulous than Sherri's wedding cake. Sherri's one of "Charm City Cakes" most talented decoraters, but this time around it was her turn to have a beautiful cake made for her and her new husband. It was patterned after her wedding invitations using the same design and color. It was a painstaking job, but when it was finished it was glorious. We didn't see the wedding, but the reception was held at the zoo (if I understood it correctly), and they had a few animals on display. I thought that was a mighty cool place to go, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Decorater Richard was missing this week. Hmmm...., but we have a few newbies and they'll be great to watch this season. Another amazing cake this week was a birthday cake in the shape of voodoo doll beaver....with signs stuck into him with curses such as, bald head, vericose veins, wrinkles, etc. Great idea for the man who has everything and is having a momentous birthday....by the way, the man's name was Beaver (wink, wink.) There was also a "disaster" cake in the shape of the Titanic being sunk by an airplane. It was a housewarming cake, that depicted just how much it'd taken to get the house up and running. Too funny!!! Geoff did a fantastic job on that one. The flames, the icebergs, the TITANIC for gawd's sake!

All in all, a splendid way to get the new season going.
