Will Adrian ever get a break from his many woes? On top of the fact that he has learned that the strange lad who has been hanging around near his home is his illegitimate son, Glenn, which he fathered by Sharon Bott some twelve years ago, he is also stunned when Sharon, via Glenn, demands fifteen thousand pounds in past-due maintenance support money! Meanwhile, the press are using Pandora as fodder for their spite by attacking the expensive clothes she wears and demanding that, as a British MP, she should wear items made only by British designers. Adrian notices that his hair is falling out more rapidly than ever, but will Archie Tait, the old pensioner whom Adrian first met on election day find a way to help him out that even Adrian could not have believed possible?moreless

Adrian's cable television cooking show 'Offally Good' is, in his opinion and others, "offally bad". He can barely watch himself without wanting to dive into bed and hide under the blankets, never to be seen again. To make matters worse, one of the episodes features segments which, quite unintentionally, offend the gay community. Can things get much worse for this poor, beleaguered man? In fact, they can ...

As Pandora faces a sex scandal which could potentially bring down her political career, Adrian must face a crisis at home when his fifteen-year-old sister tells him that she is pregnant by a Hell's Angel and isn't sure if she wants to keep the baby or have a termination. When she turns to Adrian for support and advice, he really wonders whether he can take much more trauma.moreless

As Adrian predicted, Tony Blair's New Labour win the British General Election by a huge margin and, as he also predicted, his beloved Pandora is easily elected as an MP. Adrian is half hoping that Pandora will agree to employ him as one of her team but that, of course doesn't happen. Instead, he is shocked to learn that Barry Kent's mother is going to be working for her! On top of that, so is his best friend, Nigel!

One thing that does make Adrian feel better is the new serial killer comedy he is writing for the BBC entitled 'The White Van.' He is certain it will be a runaway success and that the BBC will be absolutely certain to make it into a compelling comedy/drama.moreless

It is 1997 and Adrian Mole is back! This time, he is aged 30, a single father to William, aged almost 3, and on the verge of divorce from his Nigerian wife, Jo Jo. He is working as a chef in London's Soho district at the trendy restaurant Hoi Polloi where he serves mainly offal-related dishes to the rich and famous. He still dreams of his boyhood love, Pandora Braithwaite, now standing as a New Labour candidate in the district where Adrian's parents live. Pandora has a PhD and a desire to be Prime Minister one day. Adrian himself is certain that Tony Blair will win by a landslide and that Pandora will also win easily. All in all, things are moving along fairly steadily and all would be fine were it not for the fact that Adrian's mother, Pauline, and Pandora's father, Ivan, suddenly embark on an affair on the eve of the election.moreless
