The team searches for an ancient religious artifact, a Romanoff icon with purported mystical properties, in a remote Russian village that apparently disappeared 11 years ago. Gabriel and Judson investigate but Russian Mafia shoot down their plane. They are taken in by the inhabitants of a mysterious fog-enshrouded village and their wounds are miraculously healed and Judson befriends a young girl, Natalia. The villagers are able to repel the Mafia types despite being unable to see their attackers. It turns out the head priest and many of the inhabitants were part of a Soviet ESP program. The head of tourism and former Red Army colonel, Sergei, shows up and tries to take the project - the transceiver is hidden in the icon. Natalia, the daughter of a test subject, uses her powers without the transceiver. The team takes Sergei into custody and leave the village and its secrets behind.
