When you think about it, it's funny. We stand here in 2007, and we Sonic fans all know that our favorite hedgehog is not a woman's guy. So, watching this episode from 1990-something provides some kind of silly smile.
Well, things are what they were. Sonic didn't even leave the Genesis console. So, who cared? Sonic was very different in that time. Let's forget 'Sonic X' for a moment and let's look at this episode from another eye.
There's Breezie. The obligatory damsel-in-distress for that kind of story. She looks like a light blue, gorgeous and developed (sic) hedgehog. She's run after by Scratch and Grounder and, as you guess it, Sonic comes to the rescue.
He brings Breezie to his camp and he's ready to satisfy everyone of her caprices, much to Tails' jealousy. This leads to a quick succession of lightning-fast encounters and adventures in exotic lands, which always provide a good laugh, either because of a visual gag or either because of a joke.
One thing that is interesting. Normally, Sonic would act as the one who would bring Tails back on Earth when the young fox gets into follies. This time, roles are switched. It's Tails' turn to take the mature role and he handles it very well, showing that he's not as childish as some would think.
A little flaw about Tails: he's thrown into the river and shouts for help because he couldn't swim well. This is a major difference from the subsequent description of the little fox, as it seems that he's in fact a good swimmer, much better than Sonic (big deal, the hedgehog hates water).
Breezie is not bad, but not very appropriate for children. Some of her elements (I'll not mention them) were unnecessary. But the plot twist about her is very good and I was surprised too. Well-plotted.
And this episode will make history because of the 'Sonic Says' segment. It makes children scratching their heads and parents wondering if they really heard what they thought they heard. Unfortunately, yes. A true historic moment. For the good or bad reasons? You decide.
I prefer to say it now: it was the first AOSTH episode that I watched. And it didn't disappoint me. I know that comparing it with 'Sonic X' is totally out-of-mind, so let's analyze it as it is. It's just nostalgic.moreless

Unfortunately, Breezie is actually just another Robotnik creation meaning that the earlier battle was just a set-up.
