Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic and Tails are in the Marble Zone, where numerous geysers are located. For those who already know the video games, Marble Zone is also the name of the second zone in the first Sonic the Hedgehog game. But the similarities between both versions are very limited. Personally, I like the video game portrayal better because of the Ancient Greece look and the dangerous lava-filled volcanoes.



The Marble Zone is a dangerous and perilous place to venture, but Scratch and Grounder dare to go there in order to catch our main protagonists. The chase then goes under the surface. Sonic and Tails discover a cave filled with gold and diamonds, guarded by a mole named Spelunk. The latter believes that Sonic and Tails are there to steal his treasure and he starts to chase them so they won't escape.



So we get another adversary here. He's even tougher and more intelligent than Scratch and Grounder (not difficult, will you say) and he owns the home-field advantage.



Honestly, I've not been impressed by this episode. Some parts of the story don't make any sense, such as the turtle family, brought in from nowhere, crossing the railroad. Some Sonic jokes work well, but some are just ridiculous and, as a children show, totally impossible to understand for the targeted audience.



And, once again, Sonic gets all the job. I want to get more from Tails. Otherwise, he's only a decoration whose role is mainly to say: "What are we gonna do, Sonic?"



As for the main melodramatic twist in the story, I wasn't impressed either and, frankly, it was too easy for a plot device.



A good episode? "I'm waiiiting..." for it.
