He was superb as Jimmy Olson. All others in that role fall short. He should have won an Emmy. The only other acting job I remember seeing him in was as a corporal in an episode of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. I didn't much care for that. I suggested on the Gilligan's Island forum that he'd have made an excellent Gilligan. So far no takers there. Anyone agree?

Yeah, I could see him as Gilligan.

Though I don't really think too much of Gilligan's Island, so I suppose that it's not very flattering to Jack Larson to say that he would have made a good Gilligan.

Don't care for Gilligan's Island? Must be a Yale man! I assure you, my observation was entirely complimentary toMr. Larson.

It could be argued that TAOS became almost a farce in itself, like GI, in its later years. That's just another observation.
