This goes way back when, so I just wanted to know how many fans have been watching this Classic
I used to love this show and watch the reruns back in the late '70s when I got home from school. George Reeves is really the only Superman I've seen. I thought he was great and can't really see anybody else playing him.

I was born in 1952 and this was one of my favorite after school shows. I remember when he died. I was so sad. When the did the remake, I didn't think I was going to like it but Christopher Reeves did a wonderful job. Now I have to see Brandon Routh.

I have recently watched most of the original series on Netflix. He was a wonderful actor. One of his first movies was a small part in Gone with the Wind. He played one of the twins who had a crash on Scarlett O'Hara played by Vivian Leigh.George Reeves like the actor who played Batman in the sixties, career was semi wrecked by the association of there TV character. George Reeves was in the movie, From Here to Eternity but his part was cut out when people laughed at a preview showing. Today things have changed and I don't believe the show would of hurt him. He was great playing Clark Kent too. That was one of the reason the director and producer want an actor who had been in movies and had a good track record.

George Reves is as iconic to his generation as Christopher Reeve is to my generation, as Tom Welling or Brandon Routh are to my nephew's generation and as Dean Cain is to to my littler brother's. It all depends on when you live/watch.

For me, George Reeve's portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman is iconic, and formed the template for everyone taking on the part since. Just witness Christopher Reeve's take on the character- it's an obvious nod to George's seminal reading of the role.

I just bought the first season and i have watched the first two episodes. So far i think he did a great job playing superman/clark kent, and it was a great loss to the acting world when he died.
