Do you think the move accurately represented the entirety of the show...or did it need more?

A little late I answer, but no, the movie is other thing that took concepts but is not similar as the show. The show is 100% better than the movie.

I think the movie generated the same dystopian feel that the show had but, as with anything translated to live-action, it had to be different. If the movie got closer to the show, it wouldn't be live-action anymore. Also the series had the cat and mouse games between Aeon and Trevor, while going through Trevor's plans. The movie, if it followed this formula, would either be several movies or a really long and confusing one. The movie did an exceptional job that complemented the source material and without having multiple movies didn't need anything else. I really liked the series as well.
