  • Beyond my wildest dreams and expectations for this ending!

The series has been concluded and it couldn't have ended better if they tried. The best two fights in the whole series are showcased in the exact same explosive, in-your-face style. This is basically the best episode for good reason, not just for the battles but for the additional plot twists placed in the storyline. Ninja is killed (more like being a dispursed figment of Afro's imagination) and Afro is sent on a "guilt trip" by Jinno, referring to their fallen friends and master. Afro finally gets to fight Justice and finds out some things previously unrevealed in the storyline. One: Jinno did not die years ago. He was saved by the Empty Seven Clan so that he would kill Afro when it was time. Two: there are more than just the #1 and #2 headbands, there are actually dozens of them. Three: Justice has a third arm on his back, which he used to kill Afro's father and almost kill Afro with.

This will go down in anime history as far as I'm concerned and I'm hoping that it will somehow continue on in it's animated glory.moreless
  • Afro versus Justice...At last.

    10
"Justice", the final episode, happens to be my favorite episode of the show, and despite its short run, I wasn't disappointed one bit.

The episode picks up from the conclusion from "Duel", where, as it turns out, was something very unexpected: Ninja Ninja saves Afro's life, but cost his own in the process. Following his last talk with Afro, the No. 2 Samurai summons enough courage to fight his former friend. Following this, Afro finally reached Justice, and after some unexpected revealing informations, both the No. 1 and No. 2 began their fight, where only one would stand victorious.

It's a shame it has to end, but I'm glad it turns out to be the best of the show.moreless
  • Superb ending to a great series!!

    9.9
In the previous episode, Afro Samurai realized the teddy bear samurai was really Jinno, his old friend, that had been saved by becoming part machine. Afro has to go through Jinno to get to the number one headband.

Afro's father once held the number 2 headband. He didn't like the violence that came with it, so he tried to hide it. But many men want power and came after it anyway. Justice killed Afro's father and took the headband.

Justice, holds not only the number one headband, but many others. If he gets the number 2 headband from Afro, he will rule the world. He will be a god. He claims to want to use the headbands to bring peace, but then he insults Afro Samurai's father. Afro was injured pretty badly when he confronted Justice. Instead of swords, Justice uses a pistol in each hand. When Afro attacks, Justice gets a shot off and hits Afro. Afro gets up and comes at him again, this time under both guns chopping off Justice's arms at the elbow and slicing his throat. Just when Afro thought he had won, a third twisted arm comes from Justice's back spearing Afro onto a pike. All around are skeletons on pikes with headbands waving in the air.

Luckily, the pike went through Afro's afro. Justice wasn't finished yet. Afro Samurai went after him and made sure that he wouldn't get up again.

Many years later, Jinno (as teddy bear) shows up to fight for the headband.

What a great ending to an series! It was so cutting edge, literally. And Samuel L. Jackson is one of my personal heroes, animated or not.moreless

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Afro and Ninja: And so, the never-ending battle continues...
Ninja Ninja: On and on and on and on.

    • Justice: (To Afro Samurai) Is that it? And I thought you loved your pappy. I thought all those souls you sent behind you mattered. But only now you see, your little anger is just a sea spray of blood in the endless ocean of this world's killing. It's got no end and no beginning, just the strong and the dead. Only cursed ones like you and I can stomach this truth.

    • Ninja Ninja: Oh man, it was the bomb hangin out wit you....Afro Samurai...

    • Afro: Jinno.
Jinno: It's been a long time, eh Afro Samurai?
Afro: You will only die again my Friend.
Jinno: Perhaps, or maybe we'll finally tie things up.
      Afro: Alright... let's do this.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Justice: Don't let the name fool you--for Afro, there's nothing equitable about world's number-one warrior. Favoring lethally accurate revolvers over a sword, the three-armed Justice took down the former champion, Afro's father, and hasn't been bested since. With his glowing red eyes and odd-colored skin, Justice is clearly more than human, but that doesn't seem to intimidate Afro.
