Okay, this is an incredible opening. I didn't even think the series would be close to this good when I saw the commercial for it. If you love action, you don't even have to like anime, because this has enough action to raise the bar. This episode shows Afro's father (who wore the #1 headband) being killed, and the other fighter taking the headband, giving Afro the #2. Afro's life goal is to take back the number one headband, to become "a god", and to get revenge for his father's death. There are some crazy parts to this episode, but the best part is when afro sticks his sword out to a bullet, and the bullet splits into a million pieces and hits everyone who's attacking him. This show is for sure something to get excited about. Overall I give it a perfect ten out of ten, because I've never seen a better opening.moreless

A Very good start of to the Series, here's hoping that it goes on past five episodes, and that the live action does get made. This episode introduced a few characters perfectly and also set up the mission that Afro is out to complete throughout the series. Overall I think the action was very good and the episode ended with just enough of a cliff hanger to keep have someone interested in what would happen next. The voice actors were also good and Samuel L. Jackson was good in the multi character role, providing both a thoughtful and humorous character!!moreless

Afro sets out to kill Justice.

The pilot episode, Revenge, as well as the first in this miniseries, quickly turns out to be more than I expected.

The show starts off with a big battle between Afro's Father (No. 1) and gunslinger Justice (No. 2), with each move as intense as the other. Ultimately, though, Justice prevails, beheading Afro's Father right in front of his son. Cut to the beginning of the episode, where Afro, now a man, has begun his quest to find and kill Justice, in hopes of avenging his father. Of course, he will have to slaughter those who wants his No. 2 headband.

Great animation, good action sequences and an original plot, Revenge is one great episode not to be missed.moreless

What do you mean, 'there are only five parts'? It's the beginning of the end!

Even though this is only a five part mini-series, I'm going to indulge as much as I can. This is the best show I've seen in forever that I can say is completely unflawed. This has the perfect mix of everything splashed in to the recipe. One dash of samurai, one sprinkle of Rap, and smothering it in some powdered chaos! There is nothing out now that I know that is better than this series, as of right now. This is going to make it hard for any network to keep up with this kind of animated excellence. Yes, this show may be over relatively fast but for those who have actually seen it, it will be around for years to come.

And on a side note, I hear that if these episodes do well they might make more, plus a live action movie, by way of Samuel L. Jackson.moreless

- Ninja Ninja: Perhaps the closest thing Afro has to a traveling companion. Ninja Ninja is less of a stealthy assassin and more of an itinerant troublemaker who latches on to the vindictive samurai. Yet he has his uses, as he proves when scouting ahead for Afro or picking up on subtleties that might elude his sword-slinging "friend."
