Jimmy wants a nice quiet Christmas with the family, but what comes up could not have been expected before hand.

After Diana jokes once again about Jimmy's puny figure, he takes it upon himself to muscle up.

Jimmy brings home a table tennis table which causes mayhem between the family members.

Jimmy's life is turned upside down when Kev gets injured at his workplace.

When Jimmy finds out what Alex gets up to behind closed doors, his parental abilities are put to the test.

Kev and Bobby take Jimmy's life into their own hands when they think he's taken up drinking again.

Jimmy takes things over the top when he auditions for Diana's choral society, something with hindsight she wishes she hadn't got him to do!

Jimmy starts worrying that he'll have to commit more to his relationship when Kev takes his relationship to the next level.

Jimmy tries to become a great dad on his own, but his life starts to take a back seat as he tried to cope with everything he needs to think about. When he starts to mess up, the kids take drastic action.

Jimmy and Diana manage to put their differences aside to make sure Alex and Molly will still have a normal family Christmas, although the school play is beginning to overwhelm them.

Jimmy goes to the hospital and has a revelation about his feelings that nobody could see coming, not even himself!

Diana's friend Pam Greerson offers her exclusive German concert tickets if she finds her a builder and with Jimmy short of cash, it seems to be the perfect solution.

When his ex wife returns home for a quick holiday, Jimmy tries to show off how well things have been going with the kids and at a push with Diana, but things don't turn out so well...

Jimmy's relaxing weekend is scuppered by Diana who wants to know who her dad was dating apart from her mother. With this going on, the kids are fighting when they think what happens to one should happen to the other.

Jimmy gets the opportunity to meet Siobhan's father which would go a lot smoother if it Diana wasn't coming with him. Diana and Siobhan's father get together but it's up to Jimmy to sort things out when Diana's had enough.

Molly gets some leverage in her efforts to get a tattoo by blackmailing Jimmy who has seen something he shouldn't have. Also, Alex takes a test that suggests he should take the path of an accountant.

Diana takes the grandchildren to Africa, leaving Jimmy in charge. On their return, there's a surprise in store. Also, Molly won't open up to Jimmy so he takes to reading her online diary for information.

Jimmy is shocked to hear that his son is 'gifted' making him very proud and also a bit clingy, so much so that Molly can pretty much do as she pleases. Jimmy laters realises he never fulfilled what he was capable of and doesn't want that to happen to Alex.

Jimmy's is giving the kids extra money to help out paying for things, something Ann wasn't keen on, and something Diana now doesn't approve of. After Diana makes her point about not owning a laptop, Jimmy buys one cheap but the real owner wants it back...in perfect condition.

Diana becomes safety conscious after Jimmy's belongings are stolen, which makes them both wonder who the house really belongs to whilst Ann is away.

Jimmy offers to let the kids have a party and also to keep Diana out of the way by taking her out. The two kids' differing friendship groups don't exactly make a perfect fit, and Diana's latest fling is seeing someone else behind her back.

Jimmy and his ex mother-in-law are dumped with Ann's kids when she heads off to Africa. As they don't get on the kids see the opportunity to take advantage, something they both eventually pick up on.
