After Bonfire Night, a woman finds her friend dead. They suspect that it was a suicide, but then realize it wasnt, and at the end, they realize that in fact it was a suicide, but the woman who found the body arranged everything to look like a homicide. A bit confusing, isn't it? I didnt really understand the end with the golf clubs, but it was something about them being left or right handed. So yeah, great episode. Poirot was brilliant as always, but my favorite character is still Hastings. He's just funny. Thank God they started airing the show yesterday and they air an episode every weekday so ill get my share of good detectives :)
I do like this episode, but it is far from my favourite.
By the end, you do realise what a good or bad action has been taken, depending on your point of view. But the journey there is a little tortuous.
It has all the classic Poirot elements - a villain who is beyond contempt, a mystery with no obvious reason and the upper class twits who were everywhere at the time (not that they have disappeared!)
I was more impressed by the apartment set than the story itself, which must be an indication of my involvement with what I was watching I suppose.
I have to admit, though I did not work out the denouement and was quite perplexed by the throwing away of golf clubs etc. So it did retain its mystery.
