Countess Rosakoff: So you are saying that the police can not solve it because they are too English? Poirot: Or because the culprit, he is not English enough.

This episode is based on Agatha Christie's short story The Double Clue, which first appeared in The Sketch magazine in December, 1923, and was later included in a collection called Double Sin and Other Stories (1961).
