The episode begins with Poirot lamenting his lack of cases and how it must be that criminals know of him and fear him. His musings turn to how he would be a master criminal should he turn his hand to it, and lo and behold, when a blackmailed lady asks for help, it is just what Poirot must do to help her!
This episode is a splendid mystery with many twists and turns and a showdown chase through the Natural History Museum in London, which would sit well in any feature film. The highlights of this episode however are the escapades of Poirot and Hastings as master burglars. The sight of Poirot in disguise as a Swiss locksmith with beret, overalls and bicycle (even his trademark moustache is combed down!) and of both he and Hastings in black SAS-style clothing makes this episode a pure classic.
