So, Aoi and Kaoru decide to go shopping alone. What surprises Kaoru the most is when she wears a pink cherry blossom styled kimono, rather than the blue one she usually wears. Kaoru suggests to relive memories in his old apartment, and so they do. When they reach the place, Aoi tells of Kaoru of a nightmare she constantly has where she has to take care of him, but does nothing but stare blankly. Kaoru then tells Aoi of his life after leaving Hanabishi and before Aoi. He raised up enough money to leave and live alone, but he soon realizes that he's lonely and wishes for someone to call a family, which is why he's so happy to have Aoi next to him. Kaoru tells Aoi he loves her, and the next scene shows a young couple in love who have interest in the room. Aoi and Kaoru hide within the closest, where they're both nearly caught. The episode ends with the two kissing in front of a cherry blossom tree.

Maybe if this was in another anime this would have been a great episode, but as I said before, Ai Yori Aoshi screwed itself earlier when they decided Aoi couldn't love Kaoru anymore. What was good about this episode was the telling of Kaoru's past life. What I hated most about it was a flashback sequence between Miyabi and Aoi, where Miyabi tells Aoi that the engagement was over. The thing is, at this point, Aoi met Kaoru only ONCE! And all he did was fix her sandal. If things would have worked out like that, I would be married to a hundred girls. There wasn't really anything funny about this episode; no fanservice or comic relief regarding Tina. The whole scene with Aoi and Kaoru almost getting caught wasn't really anything special as well.moreless

    • Aoi: Please forgive me. I kept worrying about this for so very long. Wheather or not I would be able to stay at your side Kaoru-sama as your fiancee, but I did no truely know how you felt about me all this time. I had constitnely wondered wheather you actually acknowledged my feelings for you. I felt like asking you many times in the past, but I was afraid of what the answer might be.
Kaoru: So that was it. I'm sorry, Aoi chan. To tell the truth I was a little uncomfortable putting it into words if you know what I mean.
