Everyone decides to buy bathing suits because Taeko was summoned by her Grandmother to come visit her, who lives near a beach. Mayu and Tina are battling against each other to see who has the sexier and betting looking swimsuit. The manager tells Taeko there's only one swimsuit to fit her size, so she goes with that. By the way, when she said size, she didn't mean her body or butt, but her breasts. Aoi is even having trouble of whether she should even buy one, but ends up purchasing one anyways.

When everyone hits the beach, they encounter the next character to supposedly join them in living within the mansion, Taeko's cousin Chika. I'm only saying this because she's in the opening credits. Anyways, everyone's having fun in the beach, trying to lead on Kaoru. For some reason Taeko is also mixed up in the battle, because Taeko's grandmother and Chika mistaken Kaoru to be Taeko's boyfriend. While everyone is having fun, Aoi is sitting alone within a near by shelter, while Miyabi is collecting watermelons to crack open. Aoi is still deciding whether she wants to reveal so much skin in front of everyone. The episode ends with Kaoru and Aoi alone together in the beach with Aoi getting into her swimsuit. It was inevitable they would kiss, and so they did.

I think it was this episode that made me realize that Ai Yori Aoshi mainly focuses on Kaoru and Aoi's love relationship together. Up until then, I've always thought it was those laid back animes like Azumanga, where everyone just wants to have fun. I'd like to think this series is those type of animes with ocassional romances, but sadly it appears not to be like that. If the story doesn't focus so much on their relationship together (because so far the story of their relationship sucks) then I would have appreciated this episode, as well as the rest of the series more.moreless
