  • Too many things out of place to make this a good episode.

Aoi finds a brochure of a hot spring that she'd like to take Kaoru with. However, it's such a huge coincidence that the Photo Club had decided to make their vacation on the same hot spring Aoi planned to go to. When they get there, Taeko forgot everyone's lunches inside the train, while also making them more lost. For 3 hours they've been travelling around the area, looking for the hotel Taeko had reserved for them, and discovered it was near by the train station, the place where they all got off. The trouble doesn't stop there as Taeko accidently reserves a room for them a whole year later of the same day instead of the present day. Though Aoi saves the day as she pulls out a special exclusive VIP card that makes the whole staff astonished.

Later that night, the gang tell Taeko that she needs to perform a tradition that all new recruits of the Photo Club must go through; they need to take pictures of ghosts from a temple not so far away from their location. She goes off while the gang starts partying, but Kaoru just remembered how forgetful Taeko is, and assumes she's lost. Aoi comes with him. When they reach the temple, they find Taeko, who tells them both that she was so absorbed in taking pictures that it consumed a lot of time. When they trio decide to head back, a very thick fog arises, which makes it near impossible to navigate through, so they decide to wait until it goes away. Aoi explains to Kaoru that she's always wanted to spend a vacation with Kaoru, and that it was one of her dreams. They both promised to go on a vacation alone someday.

I don't know what it is about this episode, but it feels like it's just trying too hard. At first, they throw in Aoi's wish of going on a vacation with Kaoru, then they add in Taeko's clumsiness, which leads the gang into an adventure for 3 hours. It probably could work, but how this episode executed made it not work. I think the first episode screwed the rest of the series over, because it seems like Aoi will love Kaoru no matter what, and it's hard to enjoy a show with stuff like that happening with little obstacles getting in the way of that relationship.moreless

    • Taeko: Ms. Aoi, I'm really such a klutz you know. I just seem to cause trouble for all the people around me, like today. I'm just the type of person who can't do anything right.
Aoi: I don't think that's true at all, Ms. Taeko.
      Takeo: Ms Aoi
Aoi: Do your best, and someone will always be there to acknowledge that effort and that's true for the both of us. That's why I always do my best thinking about that particular person. I can do my best even in difficult situations when I imagine that person's happiness. So, you should do your best as well too. I'm sure you can if I can do it you know I'll be rooting for you.
