Air Gear is an awesome show. I wish that rollerblades were like that in the real world. If they were, I'd be the fang king. I don't watch this show, but I read the manga, because I believe its much more better. I really like Ringo, because shes funny.
Air Gear is a fun, packed adventure for all kids. With the knowledge it contains, it can spellbind any kids under 10, possibly adults. Air Gear has many qualities to it. Such as Rollerblades, that interact with the teenage audiences, and then it has intelligence, which interacts with adults audience. There are many target audiences, that are preferred for this show. With the many tricks they show, it amazes the younger audiences and the issues they face within Air Gear, such as love and hate, are the same things humans face today. So I recommend this show is for everyone.
This series is truly revolutionary in its creativeness. The down side is that the story is so massive that it cannot all be told through the anime. At most I think that the anime gets about 1/3 of the way into the story line. This series is very well done with loveable characters and a sport that through your imagination you can really get into. By the end of this 26 episodes I was really caring about Ikki and the others and I am still curious as to how high and how far he will fly. The only thing I can guarantee is that where he goes Ringo with be there with him. Granted they my have to fight in the future but when it is said and done I believe that their friendship and relationship will be stronger than ever. The thing that impressed me the most is that Ikki isn't doing this for fame or control of the storm riders he is doing it because he loves to fly. I hope that they continue the series considering that the "last" episode has an extremely weak ending. Here is hoping!
Air Gear is a real interseting show. At first They display all the characters and you come to find out that Ikki is the main character of the whole show. His 3 relatives are famous air track riders, and Ikki decides that he wants to do it to. So he buys some air tracks and starts to ride and soon enough he gets the hang of everything and he forms his own group. With two other people they defeat all kinds of foe and in time he develops skills he never thought was possible. So he uses his skills to become the next god of AIR GEAR!!!
Microtechnology has created self-powered roller blades that allow a rider to rip along at blistering speeds, roar up walls and fly to incredible heights. And now AIR TECK (AT) has become the new rage with all of the gangs. Ikki got the dickens kicked out of him by a roller-blade gang and the four sisters that he is staying with are not going to allow him to forget it. Of the four sisters, it falls upon fourteen-year-old Ringo to be responsible for looking after their trouble-some 'adopted' little brother whom they have nicknamed 'baby-face'. When Ikki finds out that the girls are part of an elite AT gang called the 'sleeping forest', he borrows one of their skates and rides off into the night vowing to learn to ride. A chance encounter introduces him to a cute roller-blade girl. Ikki follows her to a Stormrider (AT gang) gathering and learns that she is called Simca. Simca really seems to take a fancy for him (or perhaps she really enjoys teasing him), but when his sisters (most specifically Ringo) find out, they are not happy with Ikki's new friend.
Adapted from the manga by 'Oh Great!'; who also created the manga for Tenjou Tenge and Majin Devil.
...I lost my ability to speak the first time I watched Air Gear and amazingly the main things I think of when someone reminds me of it are the naked girls 0_0, which is awful 'cuz I'm a girl too! Only if you watch it, you'll be able to understand. All the naked scenes are so funny that I even lol every time I remember them. My favourite one is when Ikki was watching his first grand competition and out of excitement he stripped naked and started sh!tting. Man, I needed 20 min. to stop laughing. Besides this scene my other favs are with Simca and Ikki. Now those are some funny stuff. All in all Air Gear is so hilarious that it's almost absurd, ever brutal. If you have any intention of watching it, please make your parents leave the room before you do it. :D
Air Gear features a fictional sport known as Air Treck, where the player wears special shoes known as Ats that can help their user literally fly in the sky!One day Ikki steals one of his sisters's ATs and turns out that he was born for that sport.Along with his friends Kazu and Onigiri they form an unofficial team and later on along with Butta, Akito(a former AT king) and Ringo they officially create a team called Kogarasumaru.Their ultimate goal?Make Ikki the wind king, king of all kings, and conquer the trophaeum, ultimate goal of every single AT rider.(Too sad that the anime ends with a cliffhunger)
Air Gear is the 4th best Anime, in the world. I love this anime. I was reading Bleach, then I saw Air gear (The Manga), So I decided to read Air Gear, and I never thought I fall fall in love with the manga. Ikki is weird, because he keeps winning. Cya.
Air gear is so cool. I wish they have Air Trek in real life. Akito and Agito are so funny. Next minute you see Akito Kissing Ikki (Minami Itsuki) in the morning, then you see Agito saying "fck" lol. Buccha is heaps scary, I wouldn't mess with him. Kazu is so kool, I like his hair. Onigiri, is hilarious lol.. Ringo is kool as. She is mysterious, and I think they need to show more of her in the manga. I love Sora, he is a classic Character. When the doctor asked him if anything else hurt, he said my-d*ck-lol.
This show focuses on a group of kids who boast special rollerblading skills. These are enhanced by futuristic skates capable of scouring city surfaces at high speeds. Ikki, one of the skaters, is an orphan, and he lives with three girls who have been orphaned as well. Like any big sisters, they don't get along with their unofficial little brother-- but that all changes when Ikki takes up the sport first mastered by the girl Mikan. Suddenly they're in the same boat, and induct the skater Simca into the 'Storm Rider' group. They've got talent, and they're going to need it, to overcome the crises that soon come their way.
Although this series is reminiscent of the Jet Set Radio games, and I'm not exactly sure why they had to have all the characters be in the same scenario, we do get to see the kids make the best of a bad situation in a non-violent and creative way. The humor is upbeat, if a touch sarcastic for characters their age. Also, there are no giant robots to be seen. All this makes 'Air Gear' one of the more enjoyable animes I've seen in a while.
Ikki a orphan whom lives with 4 sisters finds out their secret when he enters a locked room in the house.A new world awaits the young Ikki as he enters the world of Air Trek.
I loved the story from start to finish and have taken up reading the manga to follow the story past where the anime left off.The art work is good and the girls are hot and the action is non stop.If you are looking for a different or new story to follow this is a must!!!I , like alot of others are hopeing for a season 2 or at least a run on Adult Swim so it can catch on in the states.I like the anime that bring out the best in the underdog and this anime does that.I think Oh Great goes into the supporting cast with enough detal so you have a good idea what every charecter is about and you feel like you know them not long after they are introduced.Hope you enjoy Air Gear as much as I did.

Air Gear is a comedic, action-filled sports type of anime. Ikki, the main character, sees a pink haired girl riding air techs, or AT's for short. He then trys to ride AT's and competes against different people to claim different areas.
This anime is very funny at times. Other times it is filled with action. There are also times with the "friends are the best thing you can have" feeling. I would recommend this anime to anyone who is interested in an comedy filled action anime. You may probably be tempted to rollerblade. You will also be filled with surprise as you watch this anime. Many things will catch you off gaurd. This is one of my favorite animes. I hope you can enjoy Air Gear as much as I did. So I give this anime a 9 because it is a great anime. Also it is pretty short.
This is a show about five boys who find that they have the ability to fly, and they use their wings for what they thing to be great things, while others may disagree.
I am a huge fan of this show, if only because I find it easy to relate to some of the problems that the main characters go through. I found this show in an AMV on YouTube a few weeks ago, and I have taken it upon myself to watch all 25 episodes, and though I am not pleased with the way it ended, I still find that I have fallen in love with this show. The main characters are all so different, and yet they fit together so well. The animation is good, the voice actors are perfect, and I love the fact that you have to be a loyal fan to watch this show, because the only way I have found it is in Japanese with English subtitles. It is a show that is easy to get addicted to, and I am happy to have found it on tv.com so that I can try to understand more about exactly what was happening, for the show is a bit confusing at first. Eventually though, you learn what was happening. It just takes an open mind to truly understand.
The early parts of the story carry out the introduction of characters that eventually join Ikki, and as the story progresses, it focuses on their roles as Storm Riders and their quest to be on the top of the Trophaeum Tower.
Itsuki "Ikki" Minami, is a student and a delinquent. Also known as the “Unbeatable Babyface,” Ikki is the leader of the youth gang by the name of “East Side Gunz.” Upon his return home after being humiliated by a street gang of Storm Riders called the Skull Saders, Ikki discovers a secret hidden from him by his benefactors, the Noyamano sisters. The sisters belong to a group of Storm Riders who go by the team name of Sleeping Forest. In the anime, learning the sisters' secret angers him and he steals a pair of Air Trecks, abbreviated as “AT”. (In the manga, the sisters give a pair of ATs to him and invite him to skate with them.) Ikki eventually settles his grudge with the Skull Saders, but in the process he receives more than the simple satisfaction of revenge. Determined to experience the sensation of “flight” for as long as he can, Ikki is quickly sucked into the mysterious, irresistible world of Air Trecks.
From what I've read around the net, the anime deviates from the manga quite a bit. I don't really care, because I feel the themes and story presented in the anime are really good. I love the majorty of the characters, everyone in Team Kogarasumaru, I think each has a distinct personality and goal. The music, I believe is better then that of most animes. The finale of the first season was FANTASTIC and such a cliffhanger for what might come in the future, and I'm sad to hear many people say that the series won't get a second season.
oh yeah i like this anime. i just managed to watch this anime on the internet it took me a while to get my own copy anyways it's quite good but at some points during the anime the graphics quite turn ugly .but still its a nice one to watch especially if you like the manga,or just a fan of the creator.for me its well good enough above average with the story one and its quite a first i wonder if there are other types of this kind of anime storyline hmmm i hope they make more episodes for this anime
Holy Poop that was a freakin' good show!!!! I mean it was really good! At first i thought," this is going to be a stupid show" but then i got more into the series and then i loved it!I'm thinking of watching the whole series again and again and again till i'm lying on my bed...dead!!!! Really, how can anybody think that this is a bad show! it's so freakin' hilarious and i love it now...i'm a freak for it...you get it???I mean atleast try to watch the good show. It might waste your time but still you won't get bored at all.
What's in this show I haven't seen in other animes?
Characters drawn to look many years older than they say they are? Seen it. At first, I though Yususke Urameshi, 14 (Yu Yu Hakusho), was 30, and Domon Kashu, 19 (G Gundam), was in his late 20's. The main character looks far older than 13, and the chick with the glasses isn't any 14-year-old I've seen. Japan needs to get therapy.
An overabundance of overly busty women? What anime DOESN'T sweat the buxom ladies? I find the really good animes typically shy away from over-exposure of T an' A.
Lesbian innuendo and other heavy sexual content? *Yawn* Seen it. It's not interesting, entertaining, and certainly not intended to empower. Garbage.
Dramatization of a normal, mudane act to make it seem as if the fate of the world or someone's destiny is constantly at stake, while adding in heavy existentialism? Seen it. Take Yu-Gi-Oh, where the world is destroyed or saved by holographic Go Fish. Do I HAVE to bring up Prince of Tennis?
Two people with a sibling or cousin (or like) relationship caught in a romantic triangle, at least ONE of them being totally oblivious? Seen it. Too often in anime, really. Like I said: Therapy. Think about it, Japan.
I can't say it's ALL bad. I mean, it LOOKS nice (but nothing special; pretty common look as animes go) and the voice talent is good. Sadly, Chris Patton, Luci Christian and the rest are pretty much wasted on this excuse of a cartoon (and yes, fanboys, animes ARE cartoons).
For the most part, this is pandering drivel that insults my intelligence. I don't need breasts and bi-curiosity to stay interested. I need a decent story with some interesting characters worth caring about. By believing all it needed was fanservice and typical art style, this show more than fails to deliver, it didn't even try.
Ikki is my fave character for this show called Air Gear. Wish they had stuff like that in the real world. Ikki didn't know anything about AT's except what he watched in videos. Then one day he decides to try a move that he watches Simica (A girl on the show who has her own large guild) do every day. He takes at's and the sleeping forest emblem that are in the closet and tries to do the trick. Then he ends up finding simica at a skating spot and sees people putting stickers on her while she dodges them. Ikki tries also and ends up putting Sleeping forests emblem on another teams emblem and that is considered a challenge. He can barely keep up with the opposing team until Sleeping forest members come and help him out. He skates across a train rail and releases a special power called the wing gate. He wins the match just as the police arrive. Everyone manages to escape.
Air Gear was a great anime. It was originally created in manga form by OH Great, who is also behind the hit manga, Tenjou Tenge. Air Gear is about Ikki Minami, an orphan who lives with the Noyamada sisters. One day, he tried out Mikan, one of the Noyamadas, pair of Air Trecks. He eventually gets sucked into a battle, and decides to form his own Air Treck team. Air Treck teams are known as Storm Riders. Ikki forms his own Storm Rider team with his best friends, Kazu and Onigiri, and other characters he meets along the way, such as Akito/Agito. Air Gear is a highly underappriciated anime, and, even though it has a lot of fanservice and juvinile humor, Air Gear is highly entertaining and any anime fan should at least check it out.
