  • Based on the UK show, but not quite as interesting.

Did anyone see Jewelie Larry Dixon on an episode? What a weirdo. It reminds me why I would never want to work in customer service. I couldn't handle dealing with crazy people like her. I feel sorry for the staff at SouthWest. They did a great job. People like Jewelie (Not Julie) Larry Dixon scare me. I hope she is embarrassed when she sees herself on TV but I guess she doesn't realise how bad she is. She probably still thinks the airline staff screwed her over. I hope she or someone she knows googles her name one day and reads this.
  • Out of all the cast on the show, Yolanda Martin and Steve Ramirez were my two favorite. Yolanda with her warm prensence, she does not even look like she has been doing her job for 14 yeards. She is a pretty young lady.

Airline is amazing. Ihat that it got cancled and they stopped showing re-runs on A&E. Airline was like the t.v. show I would go to when there was nothing on at night because they would show re-runs from 11pm to 4am. I hope that someday in the near future I would get to meet people from the cast of the show, because I am sure that they are as friendly in person as they are on the show. If this show would ever come back, I think that it would capture the interest of more people because it shows everyday life.
  • Airline came out at the height of reality television: when anything and anyone was willing to be documented.

The show title made you think it was following mutliple airline companies, but really only one company committed and that was Southwest. Although I do not fly Southwest I had a new appreciation for the crew, pilots and staff after this show. They showed all types of passengers - overbooked planes, intoxicated customers, lost or damaged luggage, suspicious packages and family reunions. My favorite episode was of this Mom who was being reunited with her children after two years. Long story short, there were flight delays and the Mom wasn't sure if her children made it on the flight. One of the Agents at Midway airport in Chicago helped her find out the children were on board a particular plane that got in at the end of the day. It was such a relief for the Mom and once everyone was reunited: they had everyone crying - even me. Catch it in re-runs if you can.
  • Where were these people when I was flying for business in the '80s.

I LOVE this show but I am amazed at the people who think the rules do not apply to them. I flew on business in the '80s and suffered the drunks,"VIP"s(that were not) and noone would do anything then. The Southwest employees are my heros. I have lost my bags and missed flights, sat in airports because of bad weather and never, ever blamed the airline. This show really shows you that working for the airlines in not all fun and games. It is a hard job and often people do not realize how hard it is. BRAVO to all the folks at Southwest. I do not fly anymore but if I did it would be on Southwest.
  • Fly Southwest Airlines, the Greyhound of the skies! If you can get the seat that you payed for.

    5.1
    "Mediocre"
The moral of this series is very, very clear: do not fly Southwest Airlines if you want decent service.

Apparently, getting a seat on one of their prole planes is the equivalent of a lottery. Even if you pay for a seat, you may not get it if:

    A) You are less than fifteen minutes late. Why? I payed for the seat -it's mine you morons! I should get it regardless of how late I am. Of course, if the plane has left the gate, I understand and I should get a refund or be scheduled for a later flight. Not simply dumped when the plane is at the gate!

    B) You are drunk. Here again, why? Why serve booze in the airport and on the plane if you don't want to serve drunken passengers? A ridiculous policy. These people just want to get to their seat that they payed for!

    C) You are dumped because you are late and a discount passenger and your seat is given to another person who is paying a higher price for your seat. Customer friendly?

I could go on with many more, but I have run out of patience.

Simply put: if you want discount service from airlines expect mediocre to poor service at best and don't complain. Fly another airline, drive, or take the bus.

As an aside, what the hell was Southest Airlines thinking when giving approval for this show? Undoubtably, they thought it would be a great commercial for their service. But not to me or anyone who could read between the saccarin "we care about our passengers" drival.

Hey, Southwest, when I pay for a seat on one of your prole planes I should get it! After all, I just want to get from point A to point B with the least hassle and time possible. Don't add to it!
  • Another A&E tragedy!!!

Airline was a favorite show of mine. I owned the first season on DVD and will be more than willing to buy the remaining seasons, if and when they are release. This show chronicles what happens in an airport from day to day specifically Southwest Airlines. People becoming upset, lost luggage, mistakes made by both the airline workers and customers, and then some very odd situations such as having to tell a customer that they can't ride on the airplane because their smell is interrupting the experience of the other passengers. Overall, it was a very enjoyable show. I'm not sure what it did to what people thought of Southwest from watching the show, but every episode I watched was entertaining. If A&E has not plans to bring it back, please release the individual Seasons out on DVD ASAP!!!!
  • I am so mad that they cancelled this show :l

Come on people, wasn't this show awsome? Following Colleen around Chicago's Midway Airport, or maybe Yolanda at LAX, you would always find a different scenario you would go, YOU CAN'T DO THAT, or ARE YOU STUPID? Though it was very interesting to see these people square off against the supervisors.

They also went out of the airport to show what these people do in their lives out of the airport. Just a cool show which they followed around these people. Most of the time they were wrong in their assumptions, and they would always be fighting for money from the airline.

But, if you can't see it on TV anymore, they have released Season 1 on DVD, so check that out for sure!
  • wow...can flight attendents hand out Valium??

Wow – I am so glad that I was never on a flight with someone that was this bad. These people are scary!! Guess what people, sometime in your life you are going to end up on a flight that is delayed or even cancelled. Deal with it, it’s all part of traveling. Screaming at the desk attendant at the top of your lungs w/ every other word a bleep is not going to make anything any better. It’s not her fault – she didn’t order the weather storm in some other city. So lay off it. Go get a drink in the bar and some food and a good magazine. Relax. It’s not worth having a coronary over.
  • I love this show. Sometimes I wonder if this is real stuff going on in airports or do they fix it for the show.

    "Great"
I think the situations on the show are so entertaining that some of them have to be staged. Other than that I love the show. It's like the realest reality TV show out there because it's dealing with the lives of real people trying to get places and the fustrations of traveling. I can't believe Southwest Airlines agreed to do this. From the situations on this show I don't think I'll be flying with them any time soon. The show makes Southwest Airlines look bad sometimes and their workers look like they are forced to the dirty work for southwest.
  • Watch this show at least twice, before you decide if you like it.

When I first heard about a show that follows employees of Southwest around, it did sound boring. How in the world could that be interesting? I am addicted to this show. I cannot believe how much patience the employees have when dealing with some of their customers. I have seen then cussed out, flipped out, offered drugs or drinks, and physically threatened. I have watched them help out disabled people, and being in a chair myself I really found that informative. I have seen them deal with problems they caused themselves. I remember the episode they had to tell a bride that her dress fell off the transport, outside on the asphalt, was ran over by the transport, ripped to shreds, and soiled beyond recognition. I felt sorry for the male employee having to tell her, and her family for being so upset. I guess I am a voyeur at heart. Watch this, I promise you will cheer for the good ones, and get mad at the bad ones. This is what makes a show good.
  • Reality show chronicling the lives of the passengers who fly Southwest Airlines, and the customer service people who strive to put up with them.

    8.1
    "Great"
I really liked this show, and I did hate to see it end. But I have to admit, it really started to seem like every other person who flies in domestic America flies drunk. And then, in their drunken stupors, they all say how much they hate Southwest. While I cannot say I love Southwest, I just don't understand how this show was supposed to improve their image and make the general public like them more, when it's just a show chronicling how their customer service representatives have to herd drunk people around all day. Then, there are the poor innocents who actually create itineraries for traveling in expectation of arriving at predetermined times, only to be bumped from flight to flight by the same customer service reps, who then seemingly lose all compassion with the people who are just normal and not drunk. Anyways, I understand it's a hard field to be in, but the TV show following them around, and following all the drunk people who hate Southwest around, just got to be repetitious and lame. I don't know what they could have done to make it more interesting either. Guess just let it fade away, which is what they did.
  • Watch what happens when everyone from the ordinary to the bizarre goes to the airport, and the beleagured souls behind the ticket counter have to help them.

    "Perfect"
We all wind up at the airport now and then, sometimes for business, often for pleasure--and we all must step into that wonderful madhouse known as the terminal. It's a panoply of life, with duty-free shops, a plethora of food stands, and the ever-popular magazine and candy place. Some of us place phone calls while we're waiting to get on board; others stop for a drink; and some just need to sit down and read the paper.

    Others are, well, different.

The highly complex world of air travel follows the standard of Murphy's Law. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, as passengers lose their tickets, their luggage, their flightmates and eventually their minds.

Watching it all are the crews of the airline staff. They do their best to help solve problems and get everyone out on time.

It's not easy, as they must deal with everyone from the rude to the sadly lost. Watch drunks start a fight, watch foreign tourists struggle to piece together their group after a schedule flub, and see countless passengers try in vain to convince the desk workers to change the rules just this once.

Hilarious, frustrating, filled with all the human drama of the weird and the normal, 'Airline' makes for delicious tv every time.

This show was so awsome and funny at times, yet sad at times. They had a lot of wacky charcters. The ppl who worked there were so patient towards the customers but come on A&E bring it back.

Ahhh, the world of customer service.

I like watching the show. I love to see where people are coming and going. I am surprised at how many problems people have getting where they want to go by flying. The reps try their best to make the customers happy, but you can't please everyone.

My fave show is when they had the young boy that flew the plane. He was so young. I was amazed. He inspired another little boy to do god, and go to pilot school.

I am surprised at how many people try to get on a plane drunk. I'm sure everyone knows by now, you can't fly intoxicated.

  • Airline CANCELLED?!?!? What are they thinking?

When I heard the news that A&E has "quietly" cancelled AIRLINE, I was very upset. The fact is, they didn't come out and say straight up that they were cancelling it. HOWEVER, they did say it would not be renewed this season. I love this show! Anytime I fly through Chicago-Midway, LAX, or BWI, I look for my favorite AIRLINE Crew Members. At Chicago I look for Colleen and Val, Baltimore I look for Nick and Gina, LAX I look for Yolanda and Mike. Anyhow, I hope A&E realizes that they have made an extremely big mistake in cancelling AIRLINE. Southwest Airlines is my favorite airline and I will continue to fly with them and watch any repeats of AIRLINE until the flight lands.
  • A show pinning the airline industry and stress people go through at the airport

Definitely a reality-tv show to watch. One i could not change the channel through even though I wanted to I would always come back to this show. Unfortunate that its on a non-mainstream cable channel like nbc. Definitely should be on NBC or Fox no A&E for this show to be on

Where is the editor? Channel 7 in Australia are actually past the last episode reviewed on this site. Is anyone else willing to edit the guides for this page? I hope so because this is a real guilty pleasure for me. Does anyone else enjoy this show? Well done AandE!

Out of the new "reality" shows introduced by A&E, Airline takes the cake. After all, we ourselves have been put through the wringer by an airline/airport/customs agent at one point or another. Of course, it is now the airline's people's point of view we have to understand as well. Having worked in Customer service for 2 years, I can sympathize with the stresses that the people of Southwest have to go through day after day. While I myself would not want that sort of job (I'd probably have a heart attack at a very young age), it's fun to see how each situation unfolds and how everyone reacts. Nobody is perfect, not even these guys, but it makes for a good half hour of television.

At first i thought to myself i'm not going to like this but i did because it's funny because it's true. This is what people go through everytime they go to the airport. It's from people being to fat so they have to buy two plane tickets to which pets can and can't go on a plane
  • A show that takes you where you've always wanted to see, but Airport Security would never let you go.

I look forward to Monday nights because I know one of my favorite shows is about to come on: AIRLINE.

As a child, I was always fascinated by how an airport worked, and this show gives me the security clearance I need to get an inside look now a days.

I really don't understand how anyone could possibly get that drunk in an airport, but I'm so happy to see how hard airport ticket counter people work to keep us safe and happy up there.

I don't see why we always have to follow around the people who go to those weird events. Who really wants to see people throwing grilled cheese sandwiches into their stomaches in order to win $3,200?

Anyway, I absoutley love this show, and the UK version isn't that bad either. I'm glad to see Islip finally got it's small piece on the show (even if it was from the grilled cheese guy...)

I have done customer sevice, and it's funny to wonder if these people see who they acted in public, and in front of a camera when they complain to the customer service people. The Airline crews, are great, that show is hilarious, I laugh so hard, especially at some of the more reoccuring situations, lost luggage, drunk people not allowed on board. Great show see it if you haven't already.

I used to watch this show until they stopped airing it in Australia.

It's one of the greatest real-life shows i've ever seen.

I decided to record the show on my VCR as well as watch it.

    Now it's gone in Australia,

    But it rocked.

Hope to see the adventures of SouthWest airlines and co. soon.
