During both the scene of retrieving Airwolf from the lair, and during the climatic rescue, several stock footage shots of Hawke piloting Airwolf are recycled from the Pilot - notice that his uniform is suddenly different, and he has the 'Gordon' name tag in these shots.
In the opening trailer, the sequence where Nhi Huong says to Hawke "What would you do if it were your son?" is from a different take than the one used in the actual episode; in the trailer, she puts much more emphasis on "YOUR".
As Airwolf enters Russia, a shot of Dominic, as he sits back with his eyes wide open in amazement, is quite clearly shown reversed back-to-front (the slot for name tag on his uniform is on the wrong side, as are the controls behind him).
Archangel: If you'll excuse me, I think I'll just go stare at the lake.
The closing credits of this episode contain a quite rare version of the theme tune – sounding almost identical in style to the theme used on the first season opening credits, it is rather saxophone-y sounding play on the chords behind the regular Airwolf theme, before a burst of the more regular sounding theme kicks in near the end. This is the only time in the entire series this version was used; the nearest it was to being used again was on the next episode, 'Bite Of The Jackal', which had a different variation on the same theme.
When the series was shown in the United Kingdom, this was the most watched episode of the show's run, clocking up 12.3 million viewers on it's original broadcast on Friday 2nd November 1984 (ITV, 7:00 p.m.).
Something which we, the viewer may not yet have realised – Marella comments in this episode that she hasn't (yet) met Dominic Santini. The first time we see them on-screen together (though it's not confirmed as actually being the first time they've met) is in two episodes time, in "Proof Through the Night".
We learn in this episode that Hawke's rank in Vietnam was Captain.
The opening credits of this episode begin with Airwolf rising into shot as usual, but accompanied a single, rather sinister sounding chord (and with a much more distorted, fiercer-than-usual sound of Airwolf's blades), before the familiar first season theme begins as usual. This is the only episode of the series that this was used on.
