Archangel goes on a rescue mission to Europe to exfil Maria, his former lover, which he later discovers is a trap to lure him to his capture. After a stunt flying accident, String, Dom and Caitlin are asked by Marella to rescue Archangel.
"Fallen Angels", also known as "Angels of Mercy" is one of the best episodes from Airwolf's second season. It's a well structured espionage script, full of tight dialog and plot twists. It's written by co-star Deborah M. Pratt who plays the highly intelligent and beautiful Marella (Also, during that time the wife of show creator Donald P. Bellisario). The action is solid and plentiful in this episode with Airwolf making multiple attack runs on the castle courtyard where Archangel is being held hostage. All in all this is a great episode, one where the entire Airwolf ensemble gets to shine.
Working in large corporations in the 80's was definitely a dog-eat-dog world, and they portrayed that well in the working environment of the Firm.
The background cast development of introducing Caitlin as an Airwolf team member and the constant teasing/joking among them is well done. Definitely not the canned, sterile cast development so typical of the majority of tv series in the 90's and today.
What I don't like, however, is that when Caitlin is first introduced in Sweet Britches, she was tough and sassy. She would go up against men and have no remorse about kneeing them in the groin or chopping them in the throat. But in this episode, Caitlin has lost that fighting attitude, as she seemed clueless and squimish to take down a nurse.
